Met Gala 2025‘s rumored guest list is as star-studded as it can get. While the official guest list for this year’s biggest night in fashion is still kept under wraps, some big names will reportedly be marking their presence. Some of the A-list celebrities attending this year are Shakira, Lizzo, Doechii, and several others. Meanwhile, a few others won’t be making it to the charity event amid ongoing controversies or personal and professional commitments.
The Met Gala 2025 guest list is reportedly leaning heavily on athletes
Like every year, the Met Gala 2025 is one of the most-awaited celebrity events. This year’s event will be momentous in more ways than one. The charity gala will feature the first co-chair lineup of all Black men, including A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton. Basketball legend LeBron James serves as the honorary chair for 2025.
As per Page Six, the theme for Met Gala 2025 is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with the dress code “Tailored for You.” With Anna Wintour picking the perfect blend of artists, models, athletes, and more, this year will include many interesting additions as well. The outlet further reported that the guest list this time leans heavily on athletes and may see the attendance of basketball player Paige Bueckers.
Models Ashley Graham and Amelia Gray will also be reportedly attending the event, as will singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige. Moreover, The Sun mentioned that the Met Gala 2025 host committee features some popular names, including Tyla, Ayo Edebiri, Doechii, Usher, Simone Biles and husband Jonathan Owens, Janelle Monáe, Angel Reese, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and several others.
However, a few celebrities won’t be making an appearance at the Met Gala 2025. “Snow White” star Rachel Zegler will reportedly be skipping the event. A source told Page Six that the actor will be in rehearsals for her upcoming musical “Evita” in London during the time of the event. Zegler’s absence from the gala also comes at a time when her controversial posts created quite a stir ahead of the Disney film’s release in March 2025.
Previously, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds also confirmed their absence from the Met Gala 2025 amid their ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
The Met Gala 2025 will be held on May 5.
