David Beckham recently made a relatable confession about a specific habit that has annoyed everyone in his family. The retired footballer revealed that the extent of his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can sometimes get “tiring” for him and becomes bothersome for his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their kids. The former England football captain has previously opened up about his OCD struggles in his 2023 documentary “Beckham.”
David Beckham admits his OCD sometimes annoys wife Victoria and kids
David Beckham has been quite open about his OCD struggles in the past. The football icon shared more details about how he and his family deal with the condition. While speaking at a panel for the launch of his new supplement brand IM8 in Miami on Monday, he admitted that his OCD sometimes gets on his loved one’s nerves.
According to Page Six, Beckham confessed that he is so organized that it gets “tiring every single day.” He continued, “It annoys my wife, at times. It annoys my kids, at times.” The co-owner of Inter Miami CF shares his four kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, with wife Victoria.
However, the footballer makes it a point to remind his family how his OCD could be put to good use. Beckham recalled telling his wife and kids that “nothing would be tidy and nothing would be organized” without him. He also stressed that without his compulsive need to keep everything in its place, his family would be “forgetting things.”
David Beckham reportedly proved his statements with an example at the discussion. Showcasing a clear picture of his OCD, he began to rearrange some IM8 bottles at the event. While sorting through them, the star said, “This was a little bit off,” leaving the audience in splits.
The former athlete shared his OCD of tidying his home in an episode of his 2023 documentary “Beckham.” Describing more about this compulsion, he recalled hating the feeling of looking at unorganized cups, plates, and bowls in the morning. To avoid this, Beckham said he would “make sure everywhere is tidy” after everyone went to bed at night, including cleaning the candles and turning the lights on as per setting.
In the panel discussion, David Beckham also admitted to following a systematic schedule that includes taking his daughter Harper to school, working out with his wife, and making dinner.
