Survivor 48 Episode 7 has arrived, and in “Survivor Smack Talk,” a long-standing record is broken in the immunity challenge. With not one, but two players sent packing, and only one of them making the Jury, it was an explosive episode. Here’s everything that went down during Survivor Season 48 Episode 7.

Survivor 48 Episode 7 saw the 12 remaining tribemates split into two groups fighting it for immunity. Both groups would go to tribal, but the player who lasted the longest in the immunity challenge would guarantee their entire team a spot on the Jury. They’d also be treated to a DIY P&B session, where they could talk some strategy. Records were broken at the challenge, and strategic conversations were had. All of that and more on Survivor Season 48 Episode 7: “Survivor Smack Talk.”

Mitch panics about his position

After the vote, Mitch is hurt about Charity’s elimination. He was blindsided. “I’m questioning if every conversation I’ve had to this point has been genuine,” he admits. Having voted Sai for the second time, Mitch no longer knows where he stands. He tries to do some damage control with the “cat with nine lives,” but she’s not buying what he’s selling.

Meanwhile, Cedrek’s shocked by the solo vote he picked up. “It was definitely a female’s handwriting,” he tells the group. But, he doesn’t think it was Sai, as the cursive wasn’t her style. Little does he know, Sai wanted to shake him up a bit, and changed her handwriting purposely.

The next day, Shauhin and Joe both chat with Mitch. The tennis coach shares personal stories, knowing that this is the perfect way to bond on Survivor. But Joe knows “keeping him around” could mean he wins “easily.”

Sai also wants a real conversation with Shauhin. She can’t do “fake.” Shauhin recognizes that “she’s the type of person I wanted to work with coming out here,” but is it too late?

For this week’s immunity, the 12 castaways are split into two groups of six. One individual from each group will win immunity, and the player to last the longest in the endurance challenge will win a peanut butter and jelly DIY session for their group, as well as a guaranteed spot for each of them on the Jury. That means the group who loses all of their players first are at risk of going home without their Jury seat.

Just 15 seconds into the challenge, Cedrek drops out. In the moments after, a bunch of players follow, leaving Eva and Joe on one side, with David and Kyle on the other. The titular “Survivor Smack Talk” begins, and David looks like he’s modeling for Men’s Health. Eva drops out, which gives Joe immunity, before Kyle drops, allowing David immunity on his side.

Now, with “The Rock versus Captain America,” the stakes are high. But in the end, David pulls out the win for his team. This also means Mitch is the only player left not to eat food on reward this season. A sad statistic!

Strategy talks pick up before the double tribal council

David feels he’s in the “number one spot,” and wants Cedrek to go home. Mary predicts Sai’s demise, and Cedrek himself realizes he has no alliances within his group of six. But, with Kyle still lacking trust in Shauhin, there may be some wiggle room. “At some point I wanna stop looking over my shoulder,” Kyle admits in confessional. So, he pulls ally Kamilla aside to chat about potentially making a move.

“Kamilla and I are the most undercover duo, I think this game has ever seen,” Kyle says. He might not be wrong. They’re certainly pulling strings at the right time to ensure they make it one step closer to the end. But when Kamilla approaches David in an attempt to frame Shauhin for having an idol, he doesn’t seem to want to budge.

Over with the other group, Sai might have found a scapegoat in Mitch. “I need to plant seeds that Mitch is dangerous,” she says. But he has a Vote Blocker advantage, which could scupper her plan. Luckily for her, Chrissy is also worried about Mitch, and tells Star.

“That would be a smart move because he’s good at challenges,” Star muses. She thinks this season is going to turn into the physical threats versus everybody else – and she might be right. So, what goes down at tribal council?

Survivor 48 Episode 7: Who got voted out?

Sai Hughley and Cedrek McFadden were voted out during Survivor 48 Episode 7. Sai was voted out unanimously by 5-0 after Mitch blocked her vote. Cedrek was voted out by a vote of 5-1 and became the first member of the Jury.

At the first tribal, Chrissy noted how moves will need to be made to deal with those players who have a “story” to tell. But, she noted, “not tonight.” Mitch promised to do what he said he would, and Joe recognized Mitch’s “perfect opportunity to build relationships,” after being on the wrong side of the vote last week.

At the second tribal, Kyle said tonight would show the “difference between short-term and long-term,” solidifying bonds for the rest of the game. David, meanwhile, said playing with “respect” is important now the Jury is active. “Is it cliché to say it’s nothing personal?” asked Mary. Yes, it absolutely is. But it doesn’t make it any less true.

Next week – David loses his damn mind! I’m excited to see the potential meltdown, though I do love Survivor 48’s Captain America.

Survivor 48 continues Wednesdays on CBS at 8/7c.
