Report: Former Real Housewives Producer Felt ‘Iced Out’ of Jobs After ‘Toxic Work Culture’

Over the last few years, Bravo has had its fair share of scandals. Thanks to the reality TV reckoning, there is debate over whether or not Bravo and NBCUniversal are doing a good job keeping the work atmosphere positive, and their workers happy. Recently, a former Real Housewives producer decided to speak out, claiming that the workplace is “toxic.” Since his revelation he has gained support from many Bravolebs who just want to see the truth shine.

PART 1 For the past 5 years I have been producing reality shows for Bravo. That is until recently when I was iced out from all the shows I work on after I started making adult content on subscription fan sites. The reason I started making this kind of content, besides the fact that I wanted to, was because I was extremely burnt out and exhausted by the incredibly toxic work culture on many of the shows I worked on. I have produced 13 seasons of Bravo TV across 9 different shows, from coast to coast. I’m acutely aware of the inner workings and work culture across the board at the network. It’s bittersweet as there are so many aspects of this job and so many people that work on these shows that I love. But ultimately I learned this job was not conducive to me living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life. So I made a pivot that some may not understand. And that’s okay! I couldn’t be happier or more content with what I’m doing now. As challenging as it was at times, I’ll always be grateful for many of the memories and friendships that came from this chapter of my life. I’ve always believed in trying to leave a place better than you found it. So on my way out, here are a few things about the toxic work culture I’d like to bring to @bravotv ‘s attention and hopefully see change in the future. Recently, Patrick McDonald spoke with Page Six about his time working with the network. As a producer, he was loved by many and worked on some of the hottest shows. Cast members like Robyn Dixon, Marlo Hampton, and Sutton Stacke have all backed him after he proclaimed on social media that he was forced to join Only Fans due to the “incredibly toxic work culture on many of the shows I worked on.” In his video, he shared insight into the issue, explaining that his workload surpassed 12 hours a day for six days a week. Patrick noted he was “extremely burned-out, overworked, and exhausted.”

It seems Patrick was a friend to all, including Garcelle Beauvais. After the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star announced her departure, he took to his TikTok to defend her decision. He told viewers, “I wanna take a moment to address Garcelle’s announcement to leave the show because I’ve seen a lot of negativity online.” He continued, “I could go on and on about how wonderful Garcelle Beauvais was to work with. But if you really want to know the true nature of a Real Housewife, just ask the crew. The way someone treats people who they think can’t help them says a lot about their character.”

Patrick concluded, “Every time we found out we’d be working with Garcelle, the crew would get excited. And that’s not the case with all the ladies on the show. I’m so proud of Garcelle for making the decision to prioritize her family and her well-being over a reality TV career.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on Peacock.
