Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is fighting Stage 4 melanoma and is trying out some new looks amid her battle.
On April 8, Teddi shared a new photo to her Instagram. In the photo, she looks gorgeous in a long, blond wig and a strapless green dress.
Around her neck is a gift from her childhood friend, Shep Rose. The necklace features a fossilized megalodon shark tooth, Shep’s go-to gift for all the women in his life. In the photo’s caption, Teddi joked, “Does this Megalodon tooth make me look like I’m dating @relationshep or trying to get on Southern Charm?”
Teddi Mellencamp stuns on Instagram with her new hair amid her brain cancer journey
When she had her brain surgery back in February, doctors had to shave Teddi’s head, so she’s been sporting a GI Jane-style buzz cut ever since. As we’re used to seeing her as a blond, this is the first time we’re seeing Teddi’s natural light brown hair. It looks good on her, and the buzz is cute.
Initially, Teddi was diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer) in 2022. Since then the cancer has metastasized to her brain and lungs. Although she says she enjoys her new short hair, the accountability coach is wearing wigs to hide bald spots left behind by her brain surgery.
Just a few days ago, Teddi posted a selfie of herself showing off her short hair, which totally compliments her beautiful face. It was captioned, “The other side of my head is completely bald. Please refer your fave non-itchy or hot wigs,” adding, “Dear half-wig/half-baseball caps from Amazon … let’s do better. I was so excited for you. You hurt my feelings.”
Teddi Mellencamp’s estranged husband Edwin Arroyave remains supportive
Last week Teddi happily announced that she was finished with radiation treatment. Moving forward, she’ll be going through immunotherapy treatment.
Despite her filing for divorce in November 2024, Teddi’s husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, has remained steadfastly by her side. On an episode of their joint podcast The Eds, Edwin shared with co-host Eddie Judge about his need to support Teddi in spite of their divorce.
Edwin and Teddi share three children together: Slate, 12; Cruz, 10; and Dove, five. He also has a 16-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. It’s important to Edwin that his and Teddi’s relationship is in a “good place” for the sake of their kids. Additionally, he wants to make sure their children feel emotionally secure amid their mom’s cancer journey.
‘No matter what, I will always love Teddi, and she’s been a big part of my life,” Edwin said on the podcast. “I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do. So it wasn’t even, like, a question.”
”All that other stuff [the divorce] … we’ll see what happens with time,” he added. “But for right now, it’s just more of, like, how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as [possible]? That other stuff will figure itself out.”
