For years, Lisa Hochstein tried to pretend that she had a fairytale life with her plastic surgeon husband, Lenny Hochstein. The Real Housewives of Miami stars lived a lavish lifestyle that most could only dream of. It included fast cars, expensive fashion choices, parties, and lots of nip and tucking. But thanks to Lenny’s wandering eye, their marriage started to go up in flames. The two have been involved in a bitter divorce battle for years, but it looks like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Why did Lenny Hochstein and Lisa Hochstein get a divorce?
The RHOM stars announced their divorce in May 2022, and it only got messier from there. Rumors had started to spiral after he was spotted with model Katharina Mazepa in Miami. The good doctor later told Us Weekly, “Lisa and I are getting divorced. A few weeks ago, I denied this because I am trying my best to protect my family during this process. It is true that I am seeing Katharina, but none of this happened until after the decision was made to get divorced. This is a very difficult time, and I would ask for some privacy so that we can best take care of our children, who mean the world to us.”
As the months went on, Lisa accused her estranged husband of not providing for his children. Lisa noted in legal documents that she couldn’t even buy diapers because Lenny refused to transfer money. The documents noted, “[Lenny’s] clear strategy now is to force [Lisa] into submission by refusing to provide [Lisa] or minor children with any direct support. [Lenny] has the ability to throw lavish parties, but doesn’t have the ability or desire to provide support to [Lisa] and the parties’ two young children?”
Lisa Hochstein and Lenny Hochstein’s fighting only got worse
The former couple’s divorce played out on Season 5 of Real Housewives of Miami. While hosting a dinner party for the cast at their house, Lenny was caught on a hot mic moment that would go on to ruin him in the eyes of Bravo fans. In the clip, Lenny’s friend Vito is heard telling the doctor that he is “officially single.” Lenny then replied, “In a couple months, I might be single too.” Vito told his friend he didn’t want to see them split up, but Lenny doubled down, saying, “I do.” Lisa had an extremely hard season after learning her husband was no longer in love with her.
On November 15, 2024, Lenny and Lisa officially became divorced. According to People, Lenny was ordered to pay Lisa $15,000 a month in child support for their two kids and $10,000 per month for their daughter once their son turns 18. The pair had signed a prenuptial agreement before they wed in 2009. Per the document, Lenny will also pay spousal support to Lisa.
Lenny Hochstein and Lisa Hochstein settle defamation lawsuit
A year and a half ago, Lisa accused Lenny of leaving her bruised after their split, with Lenny countering that he had been abused by Lisa. Now, their most recent lawsuit is behind them. In a joint statement to The Daily Mail, both said, “We acknowledge that the end of our marriage was a painful and highly public experience. Images posted on social media at the time led to speculation and insinuations by the media that do not reflect what occurred. We can jointly confirm that there was never any physical harm caused by Dr. Leonard Hochstein or Lisa Hochstein, and the media’s insinuations from any photos or posts are not true. We are both excited to close this chapter, and move on and be great co-parents for our kids.”
The settlement showed that Lenny dropped his request for damages. But the court dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning he can’t re-file it in the future. Both parties “amicably” agreed to cover their own legal expense. Fans will recall that in 2023, Lisa posted an image on her Instagram Story with a circle drawn around a bruise. She wrote, “Didn’t want to have to share this. But I’m left with no choice. I’m being threatened and harassed through the court system and through ‘others’ by Lenny and it needs to stop.” After the settlement, Lenny once again noted, “I oppose all forms of violence, especially against women. I am glad that she chose to set the record straight.”
