Why Jax Taylor Is Feeling ‘Really Bad’ About The Valley Season 2

It’s almost time for the Season 2 premiere of The Valley! Unfortunately, Jax Taylor would like to skip over rewatching the sophomore effort. He and Brittany Cartwright started the season separated, but she later filed for divorce. The former couple shares one son, Cruz Cauchi. Plus, Jax was battling his own demons. It was a swirling recipe for disaster, but according to Jax, life today is much better.

In March, Jax revealed that he has been addicted to cocaine for years, but is now sober. However, in a preview of the Season 2 premiere of The Valley, Jax allegedly snapped after discovering a sexy video and some text messages to another man on Britney’s phone. He flipped a coffee table, which hit Britney in the knee.

“The last thing in the world I want right now is for you guys to see what happened to me last year,” Jax told PEOPLE. “But I gotta look at the silver lining, you know? I hope to help out somebody that’s going through what I’m going through. I think men’s mental health is kind of looked over.”

He continued, “It’s going to be bad. It’s going to be really, really bad. But you got to remember, this was shot a year ago.” Jax added, “Everyone’s in a different place. Everything’s different now, different relationships, different dynamics.”

Meanwhile, Jax said he hit “rock bottom” while “going through a divorce, losing my house, going to rehab twice, being diagnosed with bipolar, OCD, PTSD,” he said. “Figuring out my friend was sleeping with my ex-wife, losing friends … Losing my son [Cruz].”

Recently, Britney and Jax’s son Cruz was diagnosed with autism. In a touching Instagram post, Jax posted a carousel of photos and wrote in the caption, “I’m so proud to be your father, and even though we may face challenges along the way, I’ll always be your biggest supporter…”

Let’s hope that Jax continues on a good path, for both his and Cruz’s sake.

The Valley Season 2 premieres on April 15 at 9/8c on Bravo.
