Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick have long-term plans to leave Los Angeles. The betrothed couple are expecting their first child in June 2025. They previously spoke about their desire to raise their children out of the city during Season One of The Valley.
For his part, Luke prefers the solitude of Colorado. He owns a 90-acre ranch, and the couple already split their time between there and LA. The Bravolebrities also bought land in Indiana. Meanwhile, Kristen is in full nesting mode awaiting the birth of their first child, and clearly weighing the options.
The Valley stars Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick will eventually leave LA
The Valley stars spoke about their plans during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, during which they revealed “absolutely” no desire to stay in LA long-term. Luke was asked if he came to feel at “home” in the city.
“It is for the short term. I don’t know that I’ll ever call it home, but it is where we are for the time being,” he answered.
Kristen agreed, “Yeah, home is just wherever we are. It’s not our permanent home.” Her fiance added, “My home is with Kristen. Unfortunately, we’re in Los Angeles right now.”
The Vanderpump Rules alum is due June 17, and the soon-to-be parents have been in full nesting mode as they await the birth of their daughter. Kristen joked that the to-do list only gets more complex as they work to streamline their home.
“My list keeps getting longer; we’ll put it that way,” Luke said. “The honey-do list keeps getting longer.”
“Collectively, we’ve realized it’s not about getting ready for the baby, like her room or her things, which we are doing. It became more about how do we make the house easier for us? How do we organize for us so when we don’t have time for anything and we’re super tired — as we’ve been told — that everything just kind of falls into place?” Kristen explained.
Wedding plans are on hold for now
Luke and Kristen are content to continue their engagement until the time is right to move forward with a wedding. As it is, The Valley star made such an “elaborate” marriage proposal, that there is little initiative to put into wedding planning.
“I pass the ball into her court,” Luke joked. “Once she’s ready to initiate the planning, we will have more for ya.”
Kristen is thinking the wedding will take a backseat until she’s settled in with her little one. “After baby,” she stated. “Much longer after baby, we will figure it out.”
However, Kristen already knows which of her castmates she will exclude from her guest list. The Valley viewers can safely assume that Jax Taylor will not be invited.
“I mean, they’re not all getting a baby shower or a birthday [invite], so definitely not a wedding invite,” Kristen revealed. “I think after you watch part of the season, you’ll figure it out very quickly [who won’t get invited]. It’s people who — I’ll say they start with a ‘J.’”
Speaking of her costars, Kristen teased Season 2 as a “transitional” time for many of them. That includes separations, divorces, and Kristen’s pregnancy.
“Life is finally happening. It all came to this. Everything I had to go through was for a reason — so I could find [Luke], find our way, and now we’re ready to start the rest of our lives. It’s awesome,” Kristen concluded.
