At least once a week, some random celebrity comes out of the abyss with claims that they could be joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The latest to jump on the trend is Debbie Matenopoulos. She recently went on Sirius XM’s Page Six Radio and claimed that she was in talks with producers to join the series.
Is Debbie Matenopoulos joining the RHOBH cast?
If you don’t know Debbie, she was one of the original hosts of The View. Since then, she’s popped around from network to network as an entertainment journalist. Name a show, and she’s probably been on it at some point. Apparently, RHOBH could be next.
“Yes, I am currently talking to them,” she told the Page Six hosts. “So when I mean currently, I mean like, currently. Like, last week.”
Of course, Debbie is just one of a handful of women who have said this recently. Rebel Wilson said her wife was approached to join the show. Plus, actress Ana Ortiz also teased that she heard from the casting team. Those women were on the fence about it, but Debbie is down.
“So would I do it? I think it would be super fun, and I know a lot of those women,” she admitted, noting that she already had relationships with Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley.
“I love Kyle, I love Dorit, I love Erika Jayne,” Debbie continued.
Debbie has already envisioned her role in the group. According to her, she doesn’t see herself as a table-flipping Housewife. Instead, she said she would lean into her journalism skills and be a “peacemaker” for the RHOBH cast. Supposedly, she thinks she can help them.
“I said to [the producers], ‘I’m not a fighter, you guys. I’m not a fighter,’” Debbie recalled.
She continued, “I really kind of say things how they are, but never in a negative, mean girl sort of way. It always comes from a good place, so if you expect people to flip tables and do that kind of mess, you’re talking to the wrong girl.”
