Contrary to Lively’s allegations, Spencer said she had a pleasant experience working with Baldoni. She even went ahead to note that he was one of the better directors she had the opportunity to collaborate with.
‘It Ends With Us’ crew member admits Blake Lively ‘wrestled control of the film’
Amid Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing lawsuit, concept artist Talia Spencer revealed her experience on the “It Ends With Us” set. Talking to 60 Minutes Australia, she stated that, in the span of her career, the director was “one of the few” who were “very kind and respectful.”
Spencer was contacted by Baldoni himself. He emailed her asking if she would like to be a part of this project. He also called her, offering her the vision he had for the film. She said that she was all for it as he seemed like he cared “a lot about the vision” and wasn’t “in it for fame.”
The concept artist also revealed that she found it “very hard to believe the allegations.” In addition, his mission statement seemed very genuine to her. She felt he truly wanted to help young women with this project. Spencer also stated that she felt quite comfortable around Baldoni as a woman herself.
The crew member claimed that Lively might have “smelled his kindness and mistook it for weakness.” Thus, she tried to “take advantage and take power” over Baldoni. Spencer believes the actor “wrestled control of the film.” This eventually led to the director’s vision not coming through as much as it should have in the end product.
Seeing the movie’s message being “overtaken” by Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit was quite sad for the crew member. She thinks it would be best if both parties took a step back. Spencer also hopes that the “truth comes out” and “the innocent parties are proven as innocent” by the end of it.
