She’s an icon. She is a moment. And the fact that Paige DeSorbo might soon choose to leave Summer House is utterly devastating to my Bravo soul. In 2019, she waltzed into the shared home in Montauk for the start of Season 3. Paige was spunky, and even though she was new, she refused to hold back her opinions. She was a real East Coast girl, which resonated with me. And I saw a lot of my own personality within her. So it makes sense why most fans would be upset if and when she ever chose to leave the series.
Paige DeSorbo leaving Summer House would drain the show’s life and soul
Without ever missing a beat, Paige keeps her witty and shady comments firing on all cylinders. She’s had some hall of fame quotes, such as “She wore shoulder pads to the beach. She knew she was getting proposed to.” During an appearance on Chicks in the Office, Paige opened up about her quirky sense of humor. “Sometimes when people don’t understand my joke … I actually like it better. I’m like, ‘Oh, good. Now I know you’re not my audience. You’re not even who I wanted to get [the joke],” she shared.
Paige has always been the life and soul of the Summer House. She’s consistently a good friend, and you can tell she tries to include everyone in her plans. Paige’s sass is playful and unrivaled, which makes the Bravo series fun. And while Paige isn’t perfect and sometimes does some questionable stuff, she has never been malicious. I appreciate what Paige has always brought to Summer House. She brings a girls’ girl quality while also being sarcastic and adequately vulnerable. In my opinion, Paige is the beating heart of the shared house, and I’d die on that hill.
Paige DeSorbo keeps the Summer House guys in check
Thank you for sending the Bravoverse a strong-minded woman who never lets any of the guys walk all over her. During the Season 8 reunion, she stuck up for her friend by calling out West Wilson for his bad behavior. In defense of Ciara Miller, she noted, “We couldn’t understand how the fame and allure was so much more enticing than your real life.” Paige also has never had a fear of going up against Kyle Cooke. This season, he raged-texted her, and he never heard the end of it. Paige asked, “What about me gave you the impression you could text me talking about my best friend and boyfriend?” During a dinner, she also had no problem going head-to-head after he tried to call her a fake.
The fashionista is a lot of things, but she isn’t fake. Paige is an inspiration to the women of Summer House and viewers. She never allows her light to be dimmed, especially if a male roommate or Southern boyfriend is trying to shut her voice down. Just the fact that she broke up with Craig Conover due to his inability to take her work on her podcast seriously is a reason ot give this woman a slow clap. She will always put herself first when it comes to the men of the house, and that is admirable because a lot of the roomies wouldn’t do the same.
Paige DeSorbo leaving Summer House might force a rebrand
I hate to say it. I hate to think it. And I hate to write for fear that the idea of Summer House rebrand might get put out into the universe. But if Paige were to leave the franchise, I wonder if Bravo might think about a rebrand. The network has already tried adding younger faces with Lexi Wood. But if they were to do an entire clear-out, it could work. Right now, Paige is the glue holding the family together. She and Ciara’s dynamic of lying in bed only works for them. And let’s face it, Paige is the one with the major storyline.
She has argued with Kyle, encouraged Amanda Batula to follow her dreams, told off Imrul Hassan for his playboy ways, and called out Jesse Solomon for his flirting. The Summer House world revolves around Paige, and I love that. So, please, Paige, don’t leave us high and dry just yet. Get us through at least one more season.
