Who knew The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives would be the hit that we never saw coming? Hulu’s series showcased young, hot, and flirty mothers who were not only Mormon but devout social media influencers. Between their one-of-a-kind Swig soda orders and possible swinger set up, the show was a recipe for success. And just as I had gotten the theme song out of my head, the network goes and releases the trailer for Season 2. Here’s what we know.
Will MomTok survive The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2?
Just so you know, I’m spilling my soda everywhere! Eeeekkk. Okay, so MomTok is in the trenches as the ladies try to have a come-to-Jesus moment to save their platform. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives trailer shows a jumble of emotions, and Taylor Frankie Paul is still the queen of mess. The entire cast is back, including Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, and Whitney Leavitt. But they are not all one big happy family or even presenting a united front. In the trailer, Mayci’s voice is heard saying, “I never imagined for everything to blow up like this. But it’s a double-edged sword.”
Demi is going to have one hell of a season as she is seen flirting on their trip to Vanderpump Villa. She tells cameras, “You’re opening yourself and your family up to a lot of drama.”
Jen Affleck and Zac Affleck might be in trouble during The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2
Season 1 showed Jen and Zac Affleck not in the most loving of situations. It was obvious to any viewer that Jen was funding her husband’s dream to be a doctor. And instead of being praised, she was belittled for having a little fun in Las Vegas. The cameras show the two in a tense conversation while sitting on their couch. Zac asks for a hug, but his wife pulls away. Jen quickly adds, “You can have a handshake,” as she is seen extending her arm. Her husband’s face says it all, and he is not happy.
Later in the trailer, Jen and Zac announce they are expecting their third child. But The Secret Lives star adds that her marriage as of late has been “pretty rocky.” Zac adds, “This is our marriage. This isn’t a game.” Wonder if she is still having to wear her Temple Garments – those would make any marriage rocky. However, the two are seen presenting a united front and gossiping about the girls’ trip to Italy. Jen notes, “Things went down in Italy at Vanderpump Villa.” Zac then adds, “She has a cease and desist to keep her from talking about it.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 trailer shows Whitney Leavitt is making moves
A large part of the trailer shows Whitney trying to regain her place within the group. But more than one MomToker is questioning her intentions. As Whitney seemingly plots the synopsis teases: “In a battle for the soul of #MomTok, will betrayal shatter the sisterhood, or will the truth set them free?” Whitney desperately wants back in MomTok, and her former ally, Mikayla, tells her, “Everything feels fake about it. And I’m trying to protect MomTok. You’re manipulative and you know it.” While Jessi adds, “I don’t feel like inviting the devil back in.”
Whitney was not the kindest of group members during Season 1. In fact, she played the villain role almost too well. In total Whitney style, the star who once baked a pregnancy test into a cake tells cameras, “I think everyone just needs to take the stick out of their *ss.” Welp, good luck, Whit. It begs the question: Will the drama and adversity calm down, or is it every mom for herself?
There are new faces joining The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
Like all popular shows, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has some fresh blood. While the group is debating whether newcomers are clout chasers, Miranda Hope makes an unforgettable entrance. She is here to set the record straight regarding Taylor’s revelations about swinging and MomTok. Hope’s ex, Chase McWhorter (I can see why Hope changed the last name, as I can only imagine the nicknames) confronts Taylor about going public and causing the scandal.
It seems Miranda and Taylor were former best friends. Miranda is seen telling the group, “No one had sex. Ever. Period.” So who’s lying to us? The trailer ends with a fight between the husbands on the front lawn, the police being called, and Zac asking for the camera to be cut off. Lord, lead us not into temptation without delivering us some MomTok drama! Amen.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available to stream on Hulu.
