If you listen to Andy Cohen’s morning radio show on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, you’re going to hear a lot about Bravo, Grateful Dead concerts, and life in New York City. Most importantly, you’re going to hear him talk about parenting. He is the proud father of two kids, Ben and Lucy, and they recently wrapped up an epic vacation at Disney World.
When Andy returned from the vacation, he recapped the fun-filled vacation for his listeners, but he wound up in tears by the end of the show. Someone, please get this man a tissue!
Andy Cohen broke down into tears discussing his son Ben on his radio show
After dropping thousands of dollars at Disney World, it’s very easy to be moved to tears. However, Andy got emotional when talking about a conversation he had with his son upon returning to New York City. The two were spending time at a playground when Andy pointed out a teenager.
“And I go, ‘That’s gonna be you. One day you’re gonna be like, ‘Dad, I don’t want to hang out with you,’” Andy recalled, before the story took a heartwarming turn.
“And he goes, ‘No, no, I’m not going to do that.’ And he goes, ‘You know, Daddy, when I’m 60’ – I’m gonna cry – he goes, ‘I wanna take a pill so I can come back and be little like this so I can just be with you’… we had the longest hug, you know, because I think he was realizing, you know …” he continued.
At this point in the show, Andy was fully crying into the microphone. However, he wasn’t ashamed of airing out his emotions to his audience. Instead, he leaned into it and wrapped up the story like a pro.
“Hate to end the show in tears, but … we had such a deep … and had a long hug on the playground when he was, you know, thinking about that,” Andy concluded.
