Tina Knowles recently opened up about how she felt when the internet accused Beyonce of not carrying the baby, giving rise to her fake pregnancy rumors. The mom of two revealed she felt “enraged” that her daughter’s new stage in life had become “fodder for gossip” for netizens. She also called it “one of the worst times” of her life, praising Beyonce for handling it so gracefully.
Tina Knowles called Beyonce’s fake pregnancy rumor ‘vicious’ and ‘horrible’
On April 23, Tina Knowles sat down with “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King to touch upon some of the unseen moments of being a parent to Beyonce and Solange. Being a mother to two famous singers doesn’t come easy, and Knowles proved just that in the interview. While talking to King, she opened up about what she claims was “one of the worst times of my life.”
During Beyonce’s first pregnancy, rumors started making the rounds that her baby bump was fake and she wasn’t carrying the baby. Knowles clarified that her daughter’s bump wasn’t too “huge” at that point. Thus, her fashion choices for a performance in Australia gave way to some “vicious” and “horrible” rumors.
Netizens claimed that Beyonce was using prosthetics and wasn’t actually pregnant. The mom of two was “enraged” that they would make up rumors about “something so sacred.” She revealed that it was especially unsettling as their family “values babies.” Knowles further explained that it made her and her entire family a “liar,” which made her “pissed.”
What should have been a “sacred experience” for her daughter was turned into “fodder for gossip” by the internet. Moreover, the singer had been through miscarriages, so it pained her heart to see Beyonce having to hear those fake pregnancy rumors. Knowles called the whole ordeal “horrible,” stating that it was even worse because there was nothing she could do.
The singer stopped her mom from saying anything as she feared it would make it a “bigger story.” Knowles said that the “hatred was unbelievable” at the time. She concluded the segment by praising Beyonce for handling the fake pregnancy rumors way better than her. She jokingly noted, “God knew what he was doing not to make me rich because if I was, I would sue everybody. I would stay in court.”
