The Valley is back on Bravo. Season 2 of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff kicked off with a drama-filled one-hour premiere. The cast has undergone many changes since filming for Season 1 wrapped in September 2023. Two couples in the main cast separated, Jason and Janet Caperna welcomed their first baby, and rumors swirled about the show’s golden couple Danny and Nia Booko. The drama was plentiful during the off-season, which only increased interest in the already popular show.
Season 2 has impressed fans so far with its many dramatic storylines, from Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s split to Janet’s ongoing feud with Kristen Doute. Let’s take a look at the current storylines on the show and decipher which one is the strongest.
4. Janet Caperna’s feud with Kristen Doute and Zach Wickham
Janet found herself at odds with Kristen and Zack Wickham in Season 1 of The Valley. The drama began after Kristen shared a rumor that Michelle Lally was dating another guy while working on her marriage to Jesse Lally. Kristen got in a fight with the couple one night at dinner, and Janet, siding with Michelle, found herself in the middle. She chose to distance herself from the drama by not inviting Kristen and her gossip accomplice, Zack, on a trip to Big Bear. Kristen and Zack did not appreciate being isolated from the group, and the feud got a whole lot deeper.
The drama continued in Season 2 with Janet and Kristen failing to make peace in the premiere episode. Janet said on a podcast that Kristen and Zack made comments about not caring if she carried her baby to full term, which Kristen vehemently denies. Janet tried to apologize to Kristen for associating her with Zack’s behavior, but Kristen felt the apology was inauthentic.
Kristen and Janet’s friendship drama is compelling but it pales in comparison to the relationship drama going on this season.
3. Danny Booko and Nia Booko split rumors
Danny and Nia seemed like the perfect couple on Season 1 of The Valley. Fans fell in love with their story, but it didn’t take long before online sleuths started searching for cracks in their marriage. Rumors began to swirl that the couple was not as perfect as they seemed. We haven’t seen the couple discuss the speculation quite yet, but we suspect they will later this season based on the teaser trailer.
They spoke about the negative attention in an April 2025 interview with Us Weekly, telling the outlet they are stronger than ever after filming Season 2.
“What we experienced while filming over the summer could have brought us farther apart or brought us more together. But because of the way we communicate and how we are, I feel like we’re stronger than ever. Even more than before. I feel like we’re very blessed that we have great communication because it didn’t affect us.” Nia said.
2. Jesse and Michelle Lally’s intense split
Fans were not surprised when Jesse and Michelle announced their separation in March 2024. The couple was clearly struggling on Season 1 of The Valley, and viewers suspected a breakup was on the horizon. Season 2 follows Jesse and Michelle as they navigate their separation, dating new people, and co-parenting their daughter Isabella. So far, it’s been a disaster with Michelle continuously threatening to take Jesse to court if he doesn’t respect her boundaries. The tension is palpable, and fans can’t look away.
1. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s breakup
Jax and Brittany’s separation seems to be the most compelling storyline this season, which is no surprise. While we’ve grown fond of the new cast members, it can’t compare to the history Bravo fans have with Jax and Brittany. We’ve been watching the ups and downs of their relationship for the past decade. Their split has divided viewers. Some fans are sad about the breakup, while others are thrilled to see Brittany moving on from a relationship that caused her a lot of pain. My guess is that their relationship will be the main storyline this season.
The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
