In Season 3 of Summer House, the cast received a visit from Tom Schwartz, which ended in his hospital stay. When Tom dropped in to see his pals in the Hamptons, something within his body felt amiss. After a while, Tom realized that he could not endure the pain any longer, so off to the hospital he went. Now, Tom is spilling the details, revealing what happened to him during this season.
Why did Tom Schwartz leave Summer House for hospital?
Tom recently emerged again on Summer House to film alongside his pals, Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke, for Season 9. “This is a special one for me,” Tom stressed, bringing his guys in close for a hug. Then, Tom joked that he was “not secretly divorced,” “mired in controversy,” or “bleeding from any holes!” His first two statements are easy to understand, but if you are new here, his last comment might have had you saying, “What’s that now?”
When Tom arrived in the Hamptons in 2019, he was fresh off a cast trip on his former main series, Vanderpump Rules. He has just returned from their Season 7 trip to Mexico, which resulted in multiple cases of severely upset stomachs for his cast.
Tom was not safe from this narrative. Instead, he also caught the traveler’s diarrhea bug (or, as Kyle lovingly referenced in an interview, “Montezuma’s revenge”). In Tom’s case, his symptoms then escalated to bleeding, which is never a great sign.
When he entered the Summer House in Season 3, Tom was ill. His stomach had been hurting for “two weeks.” Growing weary, Tom finally announced that he was going to the hospital, stressing, “Dude, it’s killing me.”
Once there, his doctors diagnosed him with a rectal fissure. Long story short, Tom was going to survive this ordeal. After reminiscing about this event and how it will not happen again in Season 9 (or so he hopes), the boys cheered in the kitchen as Tom professed his love for his pals.
