There’s nothing like watching Kody Brown live in the land of fantasy. Over the years, Sister Wives fans have watched as Kody led a pretty wild life. While fans could get over the fact that he was a polygamous, his ideas of grandeur seemed to border on suffering from the Barnum Effect. Season 19 is revealing a lot more about what Kody expected from a wife.

If it’s not one thing, it’s another with Kody. During the most recent season, the father of 18 was outed for his misogynistic ways. It turns out he wanted all of his four wives at the time to look like models. Even though they were often running the house and raising the children. Honestly, the audacity of this man. Christine Brown, who is refusing to hold back now that she is divorced from Kody, opened up about the influence he tried to have over them. Sister Wives fans didn’t like what they heard and are now equating Kody to the modern-day Hugh Hefner.
As most readers know, the publisher of Playboy had a specific type when it came to his bunnies. He liked platinum blondes, thin women, and those who were sexily dressed, a Marilyn Monroe type. Christine shared with the cameras that she was “constantly insecure” around him and said it was “no wonder” considering his behavior. The mother of six added, “he was comparing all the time. Robyn was up on the pedestal, and the rest of us were lacking.” Christine went on to say, “He liked makeup – it was like, you had to always, always look nice.” It now makes sense why Kody freaked out over Christine eating nachos from a gas station.
Was Sister Wives’ Kody Brown building his own Playboy Mansion?
For his former wives, it very much felt like the 56-year-old was trying to put together his own version of a Playboy mansion. Christine recalled a time the family went on vacation. “We’d go camping and Janelle and I would be sitting there busting our butts getting breakfast made, cleaning up the mess. And honestly, Robyn would be doing her makeup forever. And doing our kid’s hair and doing her hair and making sure everybody looked good.” She alleged that Kody “would sit there and praise how they looked when we’d been sweating and slaving over the freaking food and cleaning up the campsite.” Meri Brown backed up Christine’s claims. The first wife noted that when she was first married to Kody, he would often buy her specific clothes he thought would look nice and insisted she wear them.
At one time, Kody had hoped to build a big house for the family to live in on Coyote Pass. The wives quickly shot down his idea. But could he have been trying to build his own little dreamland, complete with a creepy grotto? Kody has always been vain when it came to his own looks. He likes to tell the Sister Wives cameras that he has a six-pack and his blonde curls still have a bounce. However, Kody was probably only projecting his insecurities onto his wives.
Sister Wives’ Kody Brown keeps losing points with fans
At some point, you would think Kody would get a clue. For a few seasons, I actually found myself rooting for the underdog. Yet, he never seemed to catch on that he was coming across as insensitive and downright rude. Just because he felt he was the leader of the family wouldn’t make it okay to try to control women. Let’s be honest, if Hugh didn’t pass away right before the MeToo movement, he would have been canceled. Since his death, many former Playboy bunnies have spoken out against his alleged drugging and unwanted sexual advances.
The midseason opener showed Kody playing the victim once again. He shared with fans that he was worried Robyn would see him as “devalued” thanks to his three divorces. Meri has recently started roasting Kody’s treatment of her. And while fans already knew he was never kind to her, they had no idea how mean Kody could get. Kody has always thought of himself as king of the castle, but his behavior has been more gross than royal. So, once again, he is a man standing alone, thinking he is the victim.
