It’s a season of change for Sister Wives star Kody Brown and he is leaving polygamy behind. This is something that worries his remaining wife Robyn Brown, who fears that their monogamous relationship might not be enough for Kody.
It’s an understandable concern. After all, Kody has lived a polygamous lifestyle for so long. He is the father to 18 kids with Robyn and his three previous wives. Things just started to fall apart once Christine Brown decided to leave Kody in 2021.
Soon after Janelle Brown and then Meri Brown followed suit leaving only Robyn.
Sister Wives’ Kody Brown is “done” with polygamy
Kody’s last and only remaining wife, who married him in 2014, got candid about her fears for their relationship and wondering if it will be a sustainable dynamic moving forward.
“I’ve had some concerns whether or not having one wife would be enough for him,” Robyn said in a chat with E! News. She continued, “because he has been living and used to this other way for so long.”
She feels the marriage is vulnerable, and as Kody’s only partner, she requires reassurance from the patriarch about their lives out of polygamy.
“I kind of need to know if we’re okay, I guess,” Robyn admitted. “And just make sure that this works for us. The question in my head is this, ‘Is this is? Or are we going to try to, you know, live in a polygamous marriage again?’”
Truth be told, it seems like Robyn is also having trouble letting go of polygamy. “It’s a challenge for me,” she confessed. “This is what I thought I was going to be doing my whole life.”
Kody, however, has no such reservations. In fact, he revealed that he feels he has been “slapped by polygamy.” And it’s not hard to see why. The drama and fallout of his previous marriages (much of which was caused by him) was severe and it would be surprising if he wanted to jump into the polygamy arena again.
“It’s hard not to be bitter about the fact that I bought off on it and did it,” Kody said. “Because in the end, the last moments of it, I felt terrible in the last moments of it.”
Kody has no plans of returning to polygamy. “I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore,” Kody shared. “I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want the headache — the questions, the struggles, the wonder about trust. I’m not in that space.”
