RHOBH’s Pretty Mess singer has been the chameleon on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for years. Fans have watched Erika Jayne as she morphed into a different character each season thanks to her love of fashion and performing. The once-thick accent was discarded for a more guttural voice. And as her life began falling apart, viewers tuned in to watch the outcome. Erika has delivered on the storyline, so imagine fans’ surprise when rumors began spreading about her possible demotion. Here’s what we know.

A blind item suggests Erika Jayne could be demoted on RHOBH

During the reunion, Erika had no problem telling Garcelle Beauvais that she wished she were “more interesting.” The words were pointed, but they may have turned back on the Rollercoaster singer.

An unsubstantiated source shared that the 58-year-old may have bitten off more than she could chew and hinted she might have been given a contract for a ‘friend of” for Season 15. Fan account Bravo and Cocktails revealed an interesting email that they received. It read, “Oh snap! She’s been demoted! Just received this anonymous email!” The email title read “Interesting (Pun-Intended).”

The source went on to type, “This West Coast housewife who recently wished her former co-star was ‘a bit more interesting’ found herself receiving a friend-of contract for the new season.”

RHOBH viewers quickly took to the comments with one writing, “Ohhhh boy, maybe she should have shown more than her home renovations.” Another added, “I’ve had enough HGTV on Bravo; she can step aside.”

However, the big fear surrounded the possible slashing of her Bravo paycheck. One follower noted, “I’m curious how much a ‘friend of’ usually gets paid. [It] can’t be enough to pay off all of her debt.” Neither Bravo or Erika has spoken out about these rumors as of yet.

Erika Jayne might get karma after telling Garcelle Beauvais to be more interesting at the RHOBH reunion

Let’s call a spade a spade. Erika calling out Garcelle’s lack of an “interesting” storyline wasn’t very kind. Personally, I enjoyed Garcelle this past season. The actor squabbled with Sutton Stracke, shared her beach house wins, and called Bozoma Saint John out. It was more than Erika offered up in Season 14.

Perhaps Erika’s nasty comment has sent a bit of karma back at her. It wasn’t as if the singer talked about her love life. Or offered up any more information about her legal battles.

No, instead, we watched her being mean to Sutton again. And pick out a $10,000 coffee table as a treat for herself. Erika was just as much of a sidekick as Garcelle, yet no one called her out.

For years, Erika’s intense behavior has worked for her and driven in more ratings. But her bullying ways fell flat this year as many agreed she should “let the mouse go,” as Sutton would say. This isn’t the first time Erika has been rumored to leave the series. Recently, a concert flyer surfaced showing Erika as the headliner. She was referred to as a “former housewife.”

Who could replace Erika Jayne on RHOBH if she is demoted to “friend of?”

Erika has recently spoken out on her Diamonds in the Rough podcast, which she hosts with Teddi Mellencamp. As Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans know, Garcelle unfollowed her amidst all the speculation and nastiness. Erika joked she was upset when Garcelle unfriended her. She said she was “Devastated. I’m about as heartbroken as she was when I unfollowed her back.” However, no hints about a possible downgrade. If Erika were to leave the series, it would be interesting to see who she would be replaced by.

Personally, I’d love to see Jennifer Tilly step into a full-time position, but I’m doubtful she would. I’ve also really enjoyed watching Denise Richards on her spinoff, so maybe she would reprise her role.

The network could also go in a totally different direction and find a new face for the series. I would hope she would be a woman not already familiar with reality TV. Perhaps the most interesting idea could be finally inviting the morally corrupt Faye Resnick to the series. Adding Camille Grammer would be the cherry on top; especially if Dorit’s sticking around.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
