The country music biz believes Beyonce‘s history-making “Cowboy Carter” was a “cash grab” with Jay-Z‘s influence, despite the record’s huge wins at the Grammys 2025. Just as Queen Bey kicked off her much-awaited tour on Monday, an insider told RadarOnline that the country music industry still doesn’t accept her as one of their own. Her chart-topping debut country album drew rage from musicians, apparently being blackballed from the Country Music Awards in November and the upcoming edition of the Academy of Country Music Awards.
As per the source, the singer’s Grammy wins also sparked speculation about her husband using his “powerful position” to help her secure those wins. Several claims accused her of unjustly bagging the titles despite her longstanding career as a celebrated R&B artist and breaking multiple records.
Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ won Grammy Awards with Jay-Z’s help, claims ‘source’
RadarOnline learned from a source that Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” won big at the Grammys 2025 in the Best Country Album and Album of the Year categories with Jay-Z’s help. “Everyone heard the talk about Jay-Z using his powerful position in music to ramrod his wife through in scoring her trophies,” claimed the insider. However, his position and power in the music industry “held no sway” with the Academy of Country Music, marking the singer’s latest snub from the upcoming awards ceremony in May.
Reportedly, the ACM voters nominated other country musicians, including Jelly Roll, Meghan Moroney, Post Malone, Zach Top, and Lainey Wilson for top album, and left out Beyonce and her record-breaking album from the list. The insider revealed that the “latest snub” struck the Grammy winner because she loves “country music and fans went crazy over Cowboy Carter.” However, “other country artists and industry bigwigs” didn’t reciprocate the sentiments, regardless of her introducing her fanbase to the genre and making it “stronger.”
The source further claimed that Beyonce doesn’t mind it at this juncture as she has clearly landed two major wins at the Grammys 2025. On top of that, “she’s got too much pride to try to kiss up to these folks when they clearly don’t want her around,” said the insider. The Academy of Country will hand out awards on May 8, and Queen Bey may not be attending.
Despite the latest snub, Beyonce remains one of the richest self-made women in America, with Forbes estimating her net worth to be $800 million in December 2023. She has now embarked on her Cowboy Carter Tour as her fanbase wishes to see her sing some of her chart-toppers live.
