There have been mixed reviews about the future of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Season 14 created more questions than answers, and fans were once again left hanging. And even though nobody loves change, for the franchise, it feels that a recast is necessary if the RHOBH series wants to stay at the top of its game.
Sources say the RHOBH cast is changing for Season 15
It seems that significant changes are coming to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. A source close to production spoke out to OK! Magazine about what could be tweaked ahead of Season 15. The source revealed, “There are absolutely going to be changes to the current cast, some of which will shock fans.” The RHOBH insider added, “A main cast member is going to be let go, ‘a friend of’ is going to be cut, and another person is going to be downgraded to a friend — at least that’s the current word on the street. Of course, casting can always change, so nothing is set in stone.”
Rumors have already started swirling that Erika Jayne might be the housewife who has been downgraded to a friend of. A few weeks ago, a concert flyer for a show in Camden mentioned her as a “former” Real Housewives star. A blind item was also shared, which read “This West Coast Housewife who recently wished her former costar was ‘a bit more interesting’ found herself receiving a friend of contract for the new season.”
Garcelle Beauvais’ leaving RHOBH rocked the boat
Directly after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion, Garcelle Beauvais announced she was leaving the show. She took to Instagram writing, “I’ve decided to leave Beverly Hills. It’s been a wild ride. I mean, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened, but it’s been a ride never the less.” The actor stated she would be leaving in order to be closer to her family, especially her sons, who are in their last year of high school. She also noted she had big career ventures coming up. She said, “And, secondly,” she shared, “I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in — and I can’t tell you anything right now, but you’ll know soon.”
Garcelle’s choice to leave rocked the boat as no one saw it coming. The Coming to America star actually had a decent season. She tried to hold Bozoma Saint John and Dorit Kemsley accountable for their actions against Sutton Stracke. And she always asked the hard questions. But it seems she got tired of the mean girl attitude that was always thrown her way. With a diamond up for grabs, I think Garcelle’s exit caused Bravo to think about a possible recast sooner than expected.
It’s time for Kyle Richards to leave RHOBH before Season 15
I’ve never disliked watching Kyle Richards, and I respected her for being an OG. But over the two seasons, her storyline has been riddled with holes. While I can understand that a person might want some privacy during a divorce and a possible love affair, I can’t wrap my head around a reality TV star wanting that. Not to sound like a broken record, but Kyle signed up for this show and knew what she was getting into. Fans of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have grown tired of trying to decipher her secret personal life and would rather invest in a new housewife.
Kyle also seems to have grown tired of her part on the show. Her forehead vein popped out more times than I can count during Season 14. And I doubt the heat will be off her if she sticks around for Season 15. She had some really good storylines if she had just stuck with them. Whether it be her separation from Mauricio Umansky or her relationship with Morgan Wade, inquiring minds want to know. But Kyle seems determined to keep all her skeletons in the closet. Sadly, there is no place for a full closet on Bravo, so I’d say it’s time for Kyle to pack her bags and hit the road.
