Basketball Wives Evelyn Lozada Wants To Set A Good Example, Says It Was A Blessing How Things Played Out In Public With Chad Johnson

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get curious about the new season of Basketball Wives.  The show's mean girls are promising left and right that things will change from the bottle-throwing, hair pulling, dark tone of the last few seasons, but I just don't believe it.

Evelyn Lozada is now the one who is touting big changes in her behavior, while reminding everyone of what she suffered in her short marriage to Chad Johnson.  She vows she wants to be someone of whom her daughter can be proud, and she certainly doesn't want any younger fans emulating her violent ways.  Evelyn wants to set a positive example.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Evelyn makes it clear that she isn't going back to being the woman who jumps across tables to attack former friends.  She explains, "There was a lot going on in my life behind closed doors that nobody knew about…it's not an excuse though."

When questioned about her abusive relationship, Evelyn reveals that, in a way, she's glad it played out in the public.  If no one had known what was going on behind closed doors, she probably wouldn't have left Chad.  She admits, "You know what, it's sad to say, I probably would [have stayed in the marriage].  I would've brushed it under the rug.  I consider it such huge blessing [that it was public] even though it was a very traumatic time for me."

In the end, Evelyn shares, "I was a lesson to [Chad] and he was a lesson for me," adding, "We don't speak.  The last time we communicated in January.  I'm moving on with my life, he's moving on with his."

While it will be interesting to see if Evelyn's calmer, softer side will be shown on the new season, we'll also be introduced to new cast member Tasha Marbury.

Speaking to VH1, newbie Tasha says that she agreed to do Basketball Wives in order to “step out of hr husband’s shadow.'  She jokes, “I’m just gonna take the plunge — and here I am!”

Tasha shares that she tries to stay above the drama (so there will be drama?).  She jokes, “I mean, I’ve said a few curse words, but I haven’t had any fights!”

Fights, eh?  I guess we'll find out tonight!
