I always knew I was fond of Real Housewives of Orange County's Lydia McLaughlin. While she was a tad flighty, she clearly has more common sense than most of her co-stars which was proven when she bid farewell to the series after appearing for just one season.
We all know that most women claw their way into a franchise and will do anything to stay there. Of course, sometimes even ridiculous feuds and story lines don't work, do they Gretchen Rossi? It's refreshing to see a housewife realize that the show isn't a be-all, end-all. Lydia didn't like the negativity and drama, so she peaced out…but she's got a great suggestion of someone to take her place!

Speaking to Life & Style, Lydia explains her decision to leave RHOC, revealing, “I’ve gotten such an outpouring of love from my fans and I know deep down that I’m doing the right thing, so hopefully I can be an advocate for pursuing your dreams even if it’s what mainstream media thinks is weird and crazy."
As for her replacement, she's got the perfect person to join the returning cast mates Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, and Heather Dubrow…her mother! Bring it! In your face, Ryan!
Lydia tells the site, “I feel like everybody loved my mother [Judy], so I think that they should cast her. She would make a great housewife. She would do it in a second. They should call her.”
When asked what she'll miss on RHOC, Lydia admits, “You become really close with the crew. You really allow them to come into your home. Metaphorically and literally they are in your home, so I’ll miss that,” adding, "My little boys [ages 2 and 4] are like, ‘Mommy, when are our friends coming over to film the show?’ Even at such a young age, they know that there is a change at our household.”
Perhaps we should start a petition to get the weed-loving, fairy-dusting Judy added to the show…who's with me?
