Days following the emotional finale episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the fight between sisters Kim and Kyle Richards continues to remain a hot topic.
During the fight Kyle referred to her sister Kim as “insane,” “sick,” a “liar,” “demented,” and lastly an “alcoholic.” At one point Kyle even got up from her seat as if to attack Kim, who hid behind costar Adrienne Maloof. During the ugly fight, Kim also accused her sister of stealing her house and called her “phony.”
Following the airing of the episode, Kyle is now speaking out on the events that transpired both in a statement to Bravo and in her Bravo blog.
“The events that transpired that evening were quite unfortunate and should never have occurred on or off camera,” said Kyle in a statement released to Bravo. “There are a lot of elements to the story that viewers didn’t see. This has been difficult for our entire family as we both said and did things that we regret. My sister and I love each other very much we want to move forward and put this behind us.”
Kyle also took to her Bravo blog to try to clear up some things. Excerpts from Kyle’s blog below –
“Throughout the season I have come across as angry toward my sister. At times, it seemed unwarranted. I know that. I know how bad it looked. The truth is, I was angry. There were problems brewing between my sister and me off camera. I’m not good at hiding my feelings as well as others, so I brought my feelings in front of the cameras. Viewers only know what they see, and sometimes, they saw me reacting with force and emotion that didn’t seem to make sense.
First off, let me say, I love my sister so much. Sometimes, I wish I loved her a little less. You may be thinking, “You have a funny way of showing it.” And you’re not wrong. However, our arguments were never about what was happening at that moment. My mom used to say, “They’re crying about the apples, but it’s really the oranges,” and that’s exactly what was happening here. The tension between Kim and me was never about her not “having my back” in New York. There is so much more to it than that. I didn’t want to come out and say what it was that was really bothering me because this is a private family matter. It would have saved me a lot of criticism, believe me, but it’s not just my story to tell. It’s Kim’s story too.
After this horrible argument between Kim and I, we didn’t speak for a long time. My heart was broken and I suffered an incredible amount of anxiety and panic attacks. Next to losing my mother, this was the most difficult time of my life. It is so difficult for me to even write about it now.”
Meanwhile, Kim has been completely silent since the episode aired. She has given no statements to the media and her twitter page hasn’t been updated since Jan. 18. We will be sure to let you know once Kim decides to break her silence. By the way, the above photo of Kim & Kyle was taken back in October, 2010.
Hmm, have a lot of thoughts on Kyle’s words but I will leave that to you all. I will state though that it’s interesting how certain things are now Kim’s story to tell after her ‘alcoholism’ was blurted out on the show.
The first part of the reunion airs this Thursday, Jan. 27 at 10/9c on Bravo.
