To promote her latest book, Tori Spelling promised stories of woe surrounding her self-proclaimed financial ruin. Basically, Tori boohooed about being broke to promote Spelling It Like It Is, and then she expected us to believe she bounced back from her dire financial situation shortly after the book's release.
Candy Spelling appeared on The Talk – and she called out Tori's lies.
When Julie Chen asked about Tori's lack of money, Candy said the "rumors" are not true. "I'd never leave my kids in the lurch. I can't imagine any parent doing that – and I'm always there to support her. I even bought them a house in Malibu," boasted Candy. "I think it was an angle she took for her book."
So it is exactly like Tori's marital distress angle for True Tori? Got it.

Candy went on to say that Tori's very successful (i.e., hardly broke) in her own right. "She's doing two shows," Candy pointed out. "She's branded herself beautifully. Tori has a jewelry line that she does on HSN – and has for a long time. She's done children's clothes for years. She is very successful. I'm really proud of her."
Of course Tori Spelling is not broke! I did NOT believe Tori then – If anything, her idea of "broke" is being forced to buy a $500 handbag instead of a $5000 handbag. Consider me unmoved by her dire situation. – and I don't believe her now where True Tori is concerned.
