CBS Renews Big Brother For Two More Seasons!

Big Brother 16 finale

Great news, my fellow Big Brother fans. CBS has renewed the summer hit for two more seasons. BB17 will air summer 2015 and BB18 will air summer 2016. As long as she doesn’t suffer any programming malfunctions between now and then, Julie Chenbot will continue her duties as host.

This marks the first time ever in Big Brother‘s sixteen season run that CBS has ordered two seasons in one shot. This, thanks to Big Brother 16‘s increase in viewers – averaging 7.56 million in the key demo – and increase in ratings over the summer-long nightmare that was Big Brother 15.

Big Brother continues to be one of the summer’s most dominant programs,” said Chris Castallo, EVP of Alternative Programming at CBS. “And with each season, [executive producers] Allison [Grodner] and Rich [Meehan] produce the most twisted ways to evolve the series creatively.”

Wait, what? Evolve? Creative? Are we watching the same show?

I, for one, cannot stand the silly twists, ongoing misogyny, stunt casting… all of which I blame on Allison Grodner. But, at the end of the day, I will literally be Big Brother‘s b*tch every summer. It is what it is. Maybe Allison will literally surprise me and crush it next season. Yes… literally.
