Joe Giudice‘s legal battle continues! After receiving a 41 month federal sentence, Joe is back in court tomorrow to settle his identity fraud case – and he must decide to accept a plea deal – or go to trial!
After he stole his brother’s identity to fraudulently obtain a driver’s license after he lost his to a DUI, Joe was arrested and concrete evidence obtained by prosecutors proved that he intentionally used faulty information to get a license illegally.
Joe has been dragging the case out for years, repeatedly turning down plea deals and blaming his Real Housewives Of New Jersey “celebrity” for undue harshness in the case. Last week prosecutors announced that this sentence would run concurrently with his federal one and simply be added on to any time he is already serving.

NJ.com reports that tomorrow Passaic County prosecutors are giving Joe one more opportunity to accept a plea deal – or he will be forced to go to trial and have his fate determined by jury – which could mean a 10 year sentence (that’s the maximum) for forgery and wrongfully using identifying information of another person.
Given that Joe is not faring so well in the court of public opinion, you’d think he’d just shaddyap and accept a deal! At the very least it will postpone his deportation.
This has overall been a terrible month for the Giudices. Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison and begins her sentence on January 5th, 2015. They also had their bankruptcy discharge denied – which means they again owe $13 million dollars to various creditors, including the IRS. They also now owe $414,000 in restitution, plus court fines, after their federal case was resolved. The
Even worse – Teresa is preparing to leave her four beautiful dawters in the care of Joe while she goes to prison – after the couple revealed that Joe has a drinking problem and is consuming 2 – 4 bottles of wine per night and sometimes, reportedly, mixing them with Xanax or marijuana! Joe even showed up to his federal sentencing “smelling like alcohol” according to his attorney.
The couple is still filming RHONJ as the network and the Giudices decide how to continue given their new circumstances. Multiple reports state they will film until Teresa leaves for prison, then Joe and Teresa will be given spinoffs chronicling how they deal with life while the other is “away”.
