“Are they or aren’t they” seems to be the question we’ve all been asking when it comes to Southern Charm’s Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis. The couple has had quite the tumultuous relationship since they met on season one of the Bravo hit. The former politician and his much younger lady got together after a booze fueled hook-up, and their early start was plagued with mistrust when he learned she’d also had a fling with his best friend Whitney Sudler-Smith.
However, after a televised drunken pregnancy test, the wrap of the first season, and a beautiful baby girl, the duo seemed committed to making it work…until that crazy pool incident. When the sophomore season began, the premiere featured T-Rav and Kathryn living together at his Edisto Island plantation. Of course, rumors were already circulating that they had called it quits (yet again) before filming ended. This speculation seemed to be proven wrong when she appeared in the audience of Watch What Happens Live two weeks ago when Thomas was a guest in the clubhouse. Now, it appears their reconciliation was short lived…perhaps this latest break-up will be too!

Thankfully for fans of the show, T-Rav likes to share his feelings on social media…usually in the middle of the night. Sometimes, he deletes his posts in the light of day, but this time around, he hasn’t changed his stance. He’s heartbroken. I don’t know what it is about this cast, but they inspire me to snark one moment and then make me feel for them the next. This news is causing the latter. What is wrong with me??
On my way to work this morning, I received a text from a friend alerting me to Thomas’ recent Facebook post as I was listening to it be dissected on a local radio show. T-Rav shared a diatribe of love lost paired with a screen shot of a text message, presumably between Kathryn and a friend (phone snooping?) where she opines about a former boyfriend.
Kathryn was going to propose? Is she the South’s Gretchen Rossi? Many people commented to offer the downtrodden reality star their encouragement and support, while a few folks (one in particular) reminded T-Rav that Facebook isn’t the best place to vent about such things.
While Thomas didn’t delete that status (at least at the time of this post), he did add another. However, it disappeared within a few hours.
The cynic in me thinks that there is just too much drama between these two to ever last long-term, but I also highly doubt this will be their final break-up. It’s both sweet and sad to see T-Rav wearing his heart on his sleeve, but it can’t be fun for Kathryn to feel the need to defend herself from the comments of strangers…unless you’re of the mindset that reality stars open themselves up to such when they put their lives on television for all to see. Either way, I doubt this is the last we’ll see of these crazy kids!
