Bethenny Frankel Producing A New Show ‘Food Porn’; Says Real Housewives Of New York Reminds Fans She Is Real!

bethenny frankel to produce new show 'food porn'

Bethenny Frankel is switching gears from “professional reality star” to producer. She’s been hinting about working on a new television project for a while, and that new project is a cooking show called ‘Food Porn.’

FYI Network has greenlit the 14-episode series co-executive produced by Bethenny (who mercifully will remain behind the camera) and hosted by New York restaurateur and The Meatball Shop co-owner Michael Chernow. ‘Food Porn’ will build on the “cultural phenomena” of how social media and food have merged together to create an interactive world of cooking and eating.

For each episode Michael Chernow will travel the country to find the most “buzzed-about food” and meet with those behind the most delicious online food posts.

“I am excited to be a part of a series that will showcase the decadence and obsession people have with sharing their food online,” Bethenny told Deadline about the project. Production will begin immediately.

Other than that, Bethenny is discussing what she’s learned about life from reality TV! Declaring that she “didn’t have a grand plan” when she initially joined Real Housewives Of New York, Bethenny simply hoped people would be interested in her special snowflake-ness. “I thought I had something special and I thought I wanted to be in the public eye in some level,” she candidly reveals. “I definitely didn’t think I’d be what people call ‘a mogul’ or ‘a brand’ or anything like that.”

“Everything starts with a little seed,” explains Bethenny, who reveals her estimated net-worth of about $25 million dollars and refers to her journey as “the American dream.” She certainly has capitalized on reality TV in a way that few have, but the tradeoff has been that reality TV has also capitalized on her – including her heartbreak when her televised marriage to Jason Hoppy publicly incinerated.

“I think I suck at choosing the right people for me. I don’t think that I actually suck when I’m in a relationship, but I think that I haven’t gone with my gut enough,” Bethenny admits earnestly. “I’ve made decisions out of fear, which is the biggest mistake people can make. You have to make decisions out of truth.”

And after taking a break from reality television to focus on her talk show and divorce, Bethenny was inspired to return to the show to help other women, because she’s really, really, really, REALLY good at communicating. Seriously – she said this. I will henceforth refer to her as Delusionny.

Describing the talk show experience as “constricting” and comparing it to “directing traffic,” Bethenny is relieved to be back in the bedlam of RHONY where she can be herself! “It was way more filtered and edited than I like to be—I need to be free,”she quips. “I really do. I need to be able to express myself. I have a mouth for nighttime and I can’t be shackled.”

Bethenny believes fans started getting the wrong impression of her and felt alienated from the Bethenny they fell in love with on RHONY. “I felt that people had lost touch with me and thought that maybe I had lost touch. I miss the connection, the journey, and the relationship,” she tells Haute Living.

“I really feel that I have a gift for communicating what I’m going through, and I definitely feel like people can hear my voice and that I can help them,” says Delusionny. “I hope that people learn from my mistakes. I am very, very well aware of what my mistakes are.” Really? Cause based on what I’m watching on RHONY, that is not the case. #HomelessInDesigner

For Bethenny hasn’t been”challenged” by the intrusion of reality TV, because she’s comfortable sharing herself. “It’s challenging when you have other people in your life—when you have other people around you that you’re including,” she accepts. “The housewives are all there on their own volition.”

However, Bethenny would never-ever do a family-centered reality show again (or one that featured a relationship). Because that’s totally living your life openly, and honestly, and being comfortable being yourself on camera. Right. “It’s very comfortable for me to open my life up to the cameras right now because I’m a single woman going through a lot of changes, transformations, transitions, and it’s my experience and my journey,” Bethenny explains. “I don’t want to bring other people into this experience.”
