Tamra Judge is not ready to give up on rebuilding a relationship with her 16-year-old daughter Sydney – even if that means taking ex-husband Simon Barney back to court! This time Tamra is fighting to have Simon’s full custody of Sydney revoked claiming he is in contempt of court. I’d say he’s contemptuous alright!
The exes have been waging war against each other over custody after Simon filed court documents barring their three minor children from appearing on Real Housewives Of Orange County, plus accusing Tamra of abuse and neglect. Simon was seeking to revoke joint custody from Tamra. However, Simon was called out by a judge for exaggerating his claims, for which he had no proof, although the judge upheld the decision that the kids be kept off reality TV.

While 50/50 custody of Simon and Tamra’s younger two children, Spencer and Sophia, has remained in place, due to contentions with her eldest daughter Sydney, Tamra agreed to temporarily give Simon full custody with strict guidelines put in place by a judge working from a therapist’s recommendations. Tamra has visitation. A year later, Tamra is taking Simon court and accusing him of not adhering to the judge’s recommendation.
In court documents Tamra filed last week she accuses Simon of failing to uphold the recommendation from therapist Dr. Linda Grossman, who decided the family needed counseling. Simon, Tamra and Sydney were also to attend the class “Overcoming Barriers.” Tamra says when she reached out to Simon about participating he refused.
According to Tamra, this means Simon is in contempt of court because it is a “direct violation” of court orders not to follow the therapist’s directions. As a result, Tamra is demanding Simon’s sole custody be overturned.
Tamra believes she has a legitimate case because this demonstrates that Simon is attempting to alienate her from Sydney.
Simon, however, is firing back. In court papers he claims Sydney suffered from “extreme anxiety” from living with Tamra which caused severe cramps, difficulties in school, public ridicule over Tamra’s behavior and therefore the custody should remain in place. Simon also claims that Tamra told Sydney she wasn’t allowed in her house beause of her strong bond with Simon.
Radar Online reports that a hearing for Simon and Tamra has been set for August 28th.
