Caroline Stanbury made the press rounds in New York today to promote the season finale of Ladies of London. On New York Live, Caroline opened up about her reality TV experience, her feud with Annabelle Neilson, and more.
Caroline admitted that it took her “a year and a half” to agree to appear on Ladies of London, explaining, “In England we do not really have reality shows, especially women our age doing it. Nobody has done it before. It’s so frowned upon, whereas, I think, here you love them. Over there, they just don’t, so I was really nervous to do it. They [the locals] don’t talk about it. They pretend it’s not happening. But I know secretly they all watch it and they all enjoy it.”

Caroline added, “And I have had the time of my life.”
According to Caroline, her sister-in-law, Sophie Stanbury, enjoyed her time on Ladies of London too.
“She just said to me, ‘Thank you so much.’ For her, she’s a mother of two little boys, and I think for women who give birth and leave work, she wanted something for herself. She has come across as 98.9% drunk on the show for the whole series,” joked Caroline. “I said to her, ‘Maybe you should drink a little bit less,’ and she goes, ‘Caroline, I never get that drunk,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, you do, every single time we go out.’ She was like, ‘Actually, you know what, I’m having a blast.’ She’s a happy drunk. We’ve got the village drunk.”
Following season one, Caroline‘s snark helped her win our Readers Choice Award for Breakout Star of 2014, but some fans have been turned off by her attitude this season. When asked if she regrets anything she’s said or done on Ladies of London, Caroline said, “I may be a little harsh, but it’s normally the truth and coming from a good place. I just don’t have time to sugarcoat things.”

Caroline butted heads with several of her co-stars in season two, but her feud with Annabelle, which is still playing out on social media, was the worst.
“It’s fair to say there is no love lost between us,” said Caroline. “We started off as friends, obviously; my husband and I actually suggested her for the show. If you watch the whole second series, it’s been so based upon her trying to turn people against me, and I think the person who really wanted to say something to me, is actually Annabelle. That is really interesting, because I’m watching it back, and I’m going, ‘Actually she’s telling Julie to stand up to me, and say something to me, but I think she’s got the problem with me.’ Now we’re definitely not friends.”
On a related note, Annabelle announced on Instagram that she will not return to Ladies of London. (To be honest, given season two’s tanking ratings, I’d be shocked if any of them return.) 😉
Annabelle shared a photo of herself with Kate Moss, with the caption, “Good buy to Ladies of London. These are the ladies I love and are my real friends!! I’m blessed and greatful to say fair well!! I wouldn’t say it’s been a ride, possibly a disappointment, but we all make mistakes. See you on the other side.”
Reality Tea will be live tweeting the Ladies of London season finale tonight at 8/7c. On the finale, Caroline adjusts to life without Gift Library, and the ladies wonder if Annabelle will trust them enough to show at their final winter bash. Also tonight, Caroline and Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval are Andy Cohen‘s guests on Watch What Happens Live.
