I know we are only a couple episodes into the current season of Real Housewives of Orange County, but I really just don’t know what to make of the new girl Kelly Dodd. It is really clear that she is desperate for attention and is beyond pumped to be in the reality TV spotlight, but I’m still so stuck on what she revealed about her marriage during the last episode.
During that weird kitchen demolition party at Meghan Edmonds’s house, Kelly told the ladies that she and her husband Michael Dodd were at odds for years and actually filed for divorce in the past before they got back together two years later. Well, obviously I’m not the only one who was curious about that story because some super interesting dirt has come to light.

Obviously, Kelly is thirsting for attention, but she really does have a wild backstory that would warrant getting it. I have no idea how much Kelly will actually open up on the show, but it was only a matter of time before people dug up her past.
RadarOnline got a hold of some pretty damning documents that shed light about how crazy things got between Kelly and Michael before they got to the place they are in today. Michael took out a restraining order against Kelly after a domestic violence dispute in July 2014. That is definitely a lot more intense than a couple just taking some time apart before reuniting as a stronger unit.
In the restraining order, Michael requested to have “no personal, electronic, telephonic, or written contact” in addition to requesting that she didn’t come within one hundred feet of him and asking that she only contact him through a third party. Holy shit. That is extremely intense to just gloss over. He actually did modify the restraining order a couple weeks later, and terminated it in February 2015, but it really is wild to know that this happened at all.
But the story doesn’t end there. There are even more components of the dramatics. The case was dismissed after Kelly attended ten Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and went to therapy for six months. Damn, I wish she was on the show during this period. That would’ve been some wild stuff to witness, that’s for sure.
Now, I’m going to be paying extra attention to Kelly and Michael whenever they’re onscreen together. I want to know so much more about their relationship dynamic.
