My girl Sonja Morgan really got knocked down a lot last season on Real Housewives of New York. It was way too much for me to watch, but now it looks like she has built up some good karma since her romance with Rocco Ancarola seems to be going strong.
Yes, I’m talking about that dude Jules Wainstein set her up with on RHONY last season. Apparently that is still a thing and it’s actually pretty serious. I’ve always wanted to be best friends with Sonja, so I’m pretty elated by the news. Hopefully this one is the real deal, he sticks around, makes more appearances on the show, and we can get a break from listening to Luann de Lesseps talk about how much she loves Tom D’Agostino. I am so done with that.

Sonja’s new boo did an interview with Page Six where he opened up about their romance, so I have to assume that he will be on Real Housewives of New York next season. I mean he was already on an episode and he’s putting himself out there for interviews, so it seems like he can deal with being in the spotlight. Not only that, but he seems to be really cool with being Sonja’s arm candy. Rocco admitted, “Everywhere she goes, people recognize her.” Finally. I love to see my girl getting some recognition.
I just get nervous that people are using her for to get exposure from being on the show, so hopefully this dude is legit and we don’t get stuck with another Tom or Harry Dubin dating multiple Housewives. As of now, this dude seems legitimately interested in Sonja. Rocco said, “We’re liking each other a lot.” And he also confessed, “It’s starting to get real.”
Rocco also stated the obvious: “Sonja’s really fun.” Well, yeah, if I could turn up with any RHONY cast member it would be Sonja (and single Luann back in her cougar stage). Rocco gave the fandom hope when he said, “We’re taking it one step at a time. We’ll see where it goes.” Hopefully this one sticks. I’m so over Sonja being everyone else’s supporting character on this show. Sonja deserves a legit romance of her own.
