Is Real Housewives of New Jersey experiencing a case of déjà vu? So far in Season 9, fans have once again witnessed family tension explode between Melissa Gorga, her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice, and her husband (and Teresa’s brother) Joe Gorga. People- can’t we all just get along? Obviously not, or it would be a boring show.
The family pulled together and buried old grievances when Teresa served her 11-month prison sentence for fraud. Now her husband, Joe Giudice, is serving his prison sentence and faces deportation to Italy when he is released in March of 2019.
Melissa told People that in earlier RHONJ seasons, “We were at each other’s throats and the whole experience was very, very negative. It was a divided show.”
Now, most of the drama stems from Teresa and Joe’s father, Giacinto Gorga, feeling like he doesn’t get to see his son enough. Teresa is tired of hearing how much her father misses Joe. She pulled Melissa into the dispute and told her that she needs to force her husband to spend time with his father. I am not sure that Teresa should be giving this type of advice. Let’s be honest. She “lost control” over Juicy Joe a long time ago.

Melissa and Teresa got into an argument while the RHONJ cast was enjoying a trip to Oklahoma. Joe insists that he is very busy at work and he sees Giacinto as often as he can. When Joe went to dinner with his father while Teresa and Melissa were away, it reinforced Teresa’s notion that Joe doesn’t see Giacinto because of Melissa.
During Thanksgiving, Joe and Melissa brought their three kids to see Giacinto in the hospital. Melissa stated that she and Teresa are “in a good place” now. That is a relief! But Melissa worries about what would happen to the family if the squabbling reaches the epic level of previous seasons.

“Because we can’t go there again. If we go there again, it’s over. There’s no way — we can’t come back from that,” Melissa stated to People. Let’s all hope that the family bickering will cease, before someone triggers the fury of the infamous “Gorga switch.”
