Can you believe we are less than a week away from the premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County? If the show’s trailer is any indication, we are in for a good season. The last few years of RHOC have been a bit lackluster, so I am hopeful that the new season will be better.
Of course, all the ladies are returning, which has generally not been the case with RHOC. Vicki Gunvalson’s demotion heard round the world will be interesting to watch. How will she handle it? What about the new Housewife, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, who in theory, stole Vicki’s orange? The fabulously named Braunwyn has at least one fan amongst the OC Housewives, namely Tamra Judge.
In an interview with PopCulture.com, Tamra shared her thoughts about Braunwyn’s addition to the show. She declared, “Honestly, I’m pretty good at these things when it comes to intuition. Braunwyn is probably one of the best decisions they’ve made in a long time as far as casting.”
Let’s see–Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson were both added as new Housewives last year. Unless Tamra’s definition of “a long time” is one season, I think she has dissed both Gina and Emily! Unfortunately, Tamra did not clarify her thoughts any further. Sassy Emily might have a clever social media response to the diss if it is brought to her attention, however.

Tamra went on to say that Braunwyn is “extremely open” and brings “something very, very interesting to the show.” Being extremely open can go in a lot of different directions for a Housewife, especially a new one. Her openness might help her connect with the other ladies. Or her co-stars will use her openness against her. Time will tell how Braunwyn’s willingness to share works out for her.
And just what does Braunwyn bring that is “very, very interesting” to the show? We don’t know a lot about Braunwyn so far other than she is a friend of Kelly Dodd’s, she writes a mommy blog and has seven children. However, anyone who is a friend of Kelly has the potential to be, as Tamra said, very very interesting.

Being a new Housewife is a journey into unpredictable and sometimes dangerous waters. Tamra states that the season wasn’t all smooth sailing for Braunwyn, admitting, “She got herself into trouble.”
Tamra did not reveal how Braunwyn got herself into trouble. But we all know that in the OC, gossiping, lying, alcohol and cast trips are the quickest routes to Trouble City, California–Population 6, plus 1 Friend of.

Maybe the most interesting thing to watch for in Season 14 will be how Vicki gets along with Braunwyn. It can’t be easy to be demoted and have someone else take your place. And how will Shannon Beador, who often takes awhile to warm up to new castmates, get along with Braunwyn? Maybe Shannon will bond with her and continue her animosity towards last season’s newbies Emily and Gina. You can’t be mad at everybody. OK–Shannon can!
Fortunately, we will start getting answers to all of our questions when the Real Housewives of Orange County returns on August 6th.
