Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley has made some big changes in her life. Dorinda changed her living arrangement and moved to a new three-bedroom pad in Manhattan. The new apartment has plenty of room for all of Dorinda’s holiday decorations. I love that Dorinda is a holiday decoration hoarder!
Long-time boyfriend John Mahdessian had visions of moving in with Dorinda in her new place. But Dorinda didn’t invite him. Can he at least get a drawer? After all, John is the dry cleaner to the rich and famous. His family’s dry-cleaning business, Madame Paulette, is well-known for their ability to clean couture clothing. Dorinda should have shouted out the name of John’s business when she heckled gave a shout-out to “Jovani” during Luann’s cabaret debut.
Last season, in a confessional interview for an RHONY episode, Dorinda explained how she feels about marriage. “Past a certain age, people should not be allowed to be married. It’s for the young! They have tolerance, they have dreams, they want babies,” Dorinda stated. “You get to my age and it’s just the opposite. I don’t even want a plant in my house!”
In an interview with Page Six in May, Dorinda admitted that John was upset about her intention to never re-marry. “We love each other and support each other, and for me, I don’t know what the point would be. I think marriage is for young people, because you want different things,” Dorinda remarked. On an episode of RHONY, Dorinda commented about how their relationship could change if they got married. “If John and I lived together 24 hours, seven days a week, it would affect our relationship. We’d have a 2,000-square-foot apartment for 12,000 square feet of personality. It just wouldn’t fit!”

But has Dorinda decided that she wants to be single? Page Six is reporting that Dorinda and John may have pulled the plug on their long-time relationship. Although rumors of a break-up are not confirmed, Dorinda has been out and about lately without John. A source told Page Six, “They’re starting to live separate lives. He’ll attend the opening of an envelope, and she goes out for work, but she’s really low-key. He’s all about being the guy on the town since she’s been on the show.” I never thought of Dorinda as a homebody.
“It’s complicated,” another insider stated. “They’ve been together seven years and just hit a rough patch. They’re working through some things.”

Dorinda has made some unfortunate headlines of her own recently. Dorinda and RHONY co-star Sonja Morgan attended the Garo Faro show during New York Fashion Week. The duo was there to watch co-star Tinsley Mortimer walk in the show. Sonja and Dorinda made some offensive comments about a transgender model. Their comments were inappropriate and disappointing. Later, Sonja and Dorinda issued a statement to Page Six Style, saying “We have a history as long-standing supporters of the LGBTQ community in many ways and apologize for our offensive comments at the fashion show.”
Is the world is ready for a single Dorinda? I mean, is there anyone left in the city that Sonja, Ramona Singer, and Luann De Lesseps haven’t dated? I have a hunch that Dorinda and John will work out their issues. And maybe, just maybe, Dorinda will make space among her holiday decorations so John can keep some of his belongings there.
