Kristen Doute was virtually invisible during Vanderpump Rules Season 7. Well, except for when she was plotting to take down her ex James Kennedy and when she fell on a table after a wine tasting. She tweeted a couple times about how she wasn’t getting a lot of screentime and “liked” comments from fans that echoed those sentiments.
The grass ain’t always greener on the other side, is it? Now, fastforward to Vanderpump Rules Season 8 and everybody is talking about Kristen. Most notably, she is at odds with her ex-best friends Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney. Kristen even (seemingly) messed with Brittany Cartwright’s feelings during a recent episode. Brittany was living her best life at Miami club…. until Kristen persuaded her to be upset that a bottle service girl was holding a sign that said “Don’t do it, Brittany,” which is a sign they hold during every. single. bachelorette. party.
In a joint interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brittany and Jax Taylor discussed all of the Kristen drama, particularly, when she instigated that Miam iclub drama. Jax declared, “Kristen loves being miserable.” Something tells me that Katie and Stassi would agree with this remark.
Brittany shared, “I did notice, when the signs first came out I was like, ‘Woo!,’ pumping my fists and ready to party, and then she said something. And then I started getting upset, and then it started soaking in, like, oh my gosh. That’s about me. I started taking it personally. I don’t blame everything on her, ‘cause I definitely felt my own feelings.” And she was wasted.

Watching the episode, Jax felt like Kristen went out of her way to amp up the drama and keep Brittany upset while the rest of the women tried to cheer her up and bring back the fun again.
Brittany recalled, “I took it personally because I was so very drunk — and also, it was my bachelorette party, and I was allowed to be drunk — but also because of all the comments and stuff I have to see all the time on social media.”

That’s the double edged sword here: Brittany has to accept the perks and the drawbacks of being a reality TV star. Still, Brittany admitted, “Sometimes you can’t help but see the things, the hateful tweets, comments and I think it just irked something. It just hit a nerve and it made me really upset.”
Interestingly enough, in that same interview, Jax said Kristen was the Vanderpump Rules cast member that he would trust the most to take care of his kids, a comment he has made before. Misery loves company, I guess?
