There was so much foreshadowing on last week’s Real Housewives of Potomac episode of the looming fight between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett. The Real Housewives of Potomac are back into the groove of things, and there is no other franchise on fire like this right now. Everyone is so hype waiting for the physical altercation to play out between Monique and Candiace. Hopefully, we actually get to see it, and it’s not heavily edited.
It would be nice to get a more in-depth look at Wendy Osefo on this new episode. Last week was such a sweet taste, but I want more! She’s going to fit in great with this group. Class is officially in session, and Wendy is here to school these women. Another big issue in play is the motive behind Candiace’s friendship with Charrisse Jordan. Is she plotting behind Monique’s back? Is there an ulterior motive here?
The episode starts out with a hilarious Karen Huger workout. To make it even funnier, Ray Huger briefly joins in. I never pictured Karen as the workout type. She looks great, but I wouldn’t think she’d want to put in that effort.
Things look so uncomfortable in their marriage. There’s an overall awkward feeling when they’re together. The dynamics of their relationship seem so off lately. Karen opens up about how scary it is to not hear him say he loves her anymore. It’s jarring to hear her be so open about their marriage after years of secrecy surrounding it.

When they got married, I don’t think Karen realized just how much the age difference would catch up. It was all fine and good when they started out, but things changed. People change. Ray is ready to slow down, and Karen is just finding her moment. Karen’s stock is rising in the world, and she’s not ready to give that up. The Grand Dame has a lot more to give everyone.
Hell has frozen over because Gizelle Bryant and Monique are meeting up for lunch. If there is a truce coming, there’s no chance it lasts. These two women have never been able to get along. There isn’t really that deep of an issue between them either. For some reason, they simply don’t gel though.
Monique says she assumes the worst whenever she hears anything about Gizelle. Monique jokes that Gizelle is easier to get along with now that she’s getting “anointed D”. That’s so rude! But for real, I’d expect the same when it comes to Gizelle. She’s always stirring the pot in the most extra way. I’d be extra careful saying anything around her that I wouldn’t want to spread to the universe.
The pair discuss Ashley Darby’s recent slump following the birth of her son Dean. Ashley is down right now, so they want to plan a dinner to celebrate her. These two? They’re planning it together? Pigs must be flying in Potomac right now. What a total disaster that’s going to be.
Monique wants Candiace to attend the event for some reason, but is that really a good idea? Candiace has it out for Ashley and might taint the event with unnecessary drama. Monique jokes about hiding the utensils if Candiace comes.

I honestly thought Candiace was going to stab Ashley with that damn butter knife last year. That was a scary moment. It escalated beyond the place it should have. However, you really shouldn’t go into someone’s home talking about their mother. Ashley and Candiace are similar in some ways with the way they purposely push people’s buttons.
Charrisse attending Candiace’s anniversary party really rubbed Monique the wrong way. The producer asks Monique what the rumors were that Charrisse has been alleging spreading behind her back. Monique wants no part in discussing that topic any further. Why bring up the fact that there are rumors if you’re not going to address them?
Thankfully, Gizelle has no problem laying it all out there for everyone. She claims that Monique was spending a little bit too much time with her trainer and spending a lot of time in public with him. This allegedly upset Chris Samuels and caused issues in their marriage. Thank you for the tea G! Gizelle always has that word on the street tea for us.
Ashley meets with a lactation specialist because of her struggles with breastfeeding. She had an infection in her milk duct that almost caused her to cease breastfeeding entirely. This is a whole learning experience for me right now. So much information about nipples that I never expected.
This baby looks so much like Michael Darby. I mean…WAH. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but I’m not saying it’s great either. It’s such a wild resemblance. There is no mistaking the father of that baby.

Both the specialist and her mom tell Ashley that she needs to get out of the house more. Luckily for Ashley, Gizelle and Monique have that event planned for her. I’m not sure that dealing with Candiace on her first night out is the best idea for her. She’s already in a bad place, so an angry piranha biting at her is the last thing she needs.
Candiace and Wendy meet up, and Candiace refers to her as black girl magic personified. Wendy already comes across as POWERFUL. She has that Ph.D., and these other women could NEVER. Wendy looks primed to read these women for filth when the time strikes. It’s going to be GOLDEN.
Wendy tells Candiace that Monique and Karen were super friendly to her at the party. However, every time she interacts with Karen, Karen acts like it’s their first meeting. Karen does have that Mariah Carey “I don’t know her” energy about her, so that’s not surprising. So far Wendy seems cool, and Karen should give her a chance.
Everyone keeps saying that Gizelle is much better to deal with when she’s getting laid regularly. First Monique and now Candiace. To me, Gizelle seems to be the same shade monster as she’s always been. I don’t know her in real life, but consistent sex or not, she’s always doing the most.
Karen and Candiace get drinks, and the invite to Ashley’s event comes through. Candiace is shocked to be invited after all the bad blood between them. Why would they think to include her?

I know it’s nice to have all of the Real Housewives of Potomac women there, but this is a horrible idea. The way Candiace attacked Ashley’s fertility journey makes her coming to this even more cringe. She’s never had anything good to say about Ashley.
Ashley warns Monique that if Candiace talks out of line to her, she’ll come for her. The problem with this is that Ashley is looking for an apology from her. The likelihood of that happening is slim to none. That’s a delusional mindset to head into that dinner having.
The brewing issue with Candiace possibly inviting Charrisse around to be shady is lingering in Monique’s mind. Her new peace treaty with Candiace is feeling a little rocky at this point. She’s putting that aside for the sake of Ashley’s party, but she’s not forgetting it entirely. That’ll come to a head soon. No doubt.
Gizelle is stunned to get an invite to lunch by Juan Dixon without Robyn. She has no idea what he is going to say, but it’s odd that he’s doing it behind Robyn’s back. Gizelle is all ears though. This looks like it could be a shady situation, so Gizelle’s in her natural element.
After taking forever to get to the point, he tells her he’s ready to marry Robyn again. She starts crying because it is FINALLY happening. It took him a long time to get to this stage, but he’s here. Is he doing it because he actually wants to, or is it because he knows she won’t move forward without it?

The reason for the meeting with Gizelle is for advice on what ring to get Robyn. It’s been a long long time coming, and it’s great to see this family repaired. Hopefully, Gizelle can get her daughters to come around too, so she and Jamal Bryant can have the same new beginning.
Candiace starts her morning off telling Chris Bassett that she just peed on a stick. She’s not pregnant, and a small part of her is disappointed. She’s feeling more ready than not to be pregnant which changes her timeline with Chris. He’s ready too. At this point, I’d expect it to come sooner than later.
Unfortunately, Candiace has a lot of issues with the idea of becoming a mother. These issues probably stem from the horrible way her own mother has treated her over the years. We’ve all seen it over the last three seasons. It’s unacceptable. I believe a lot of her own behavior to other people is a result of that.
Chris figured she wasn’t pregnant because they haven’t been having that much sex. Considering she said their sex was just “decent” at the reunion, who is shocked? Way to deflate a man’s ego Candiace. She probably didn’t want to talk in much detail about it so that’s what she said, but it came off so awkward for Chris.
Does anyone else think Gizelle has some of the worst fashion across the Housewives? She’s a beautiful woman, but these fashions are a choice that she should stop making. I say this with love.

Monique makes another jab about Candiace and the butter knives when she arrives at the dinner. For someone so worried about Candiace plotting about her, she sure makes her own share of shady comments. Do some self-reflection.
Gizelle brings Candiace some tea that she got from Ashley about the ongoing Charrisse drama. According to Ashley, Candiace made a concentrated effort to be friends with Charrisse after she and Monique fell out. Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen. I’ll say that I don’t ever remember those two being close in the past.
Ashley’s nervous about Candiace being there because she’s childish and immature. Hard to argue with that based on what we’ve seen in the past. Ashley is no innocent person though and is constantly doing the most as well. It wouldn’t be surprising if she was looking for a fight with Candiace her own self at this dinner.
Wendy is such a great addition to the cast already. Bravo has really nailed it this year with new Housewives. They are all hitting it out of the park. I don’t know a better crop of first season wives. I can’t wait to see what Wendy brings to the table this season. You can tell she can READ.
I WAS NOT READY FOR ASHLEY TO SAY SHE HAD A TEAR IN HER ANUS. WERE ANY OF YOU READY FOR THAT? Honey, this is a dinner. Don’t do this to us. Getting Botox on her booty is a new one for me, but if that helps Ashley’s issue go for it.

Candiace tries to thank Robyn for bringing Juan to the event, but Monique hijacks it and makes it about Charrisse. She is big mad about this supposed betrayal. Even if it’s true, hasn’t Monique done the same thing in the past? Didn’t she bring Gizelle’s boyfriend’s ex around to be shady? Stop being a hypocrite.
I get that Gizelle and Monique weren’t as close as she and Candiace, but it’s still shady. Candiace claims she didn’t know Monique and Charrisse had a beef that deep. Monique redirects the conversation to shade Candiace about not taking a honeymoon yet. However, the line of the night goes to Wendy for saying “You have sex?” to Karen. DEAD.
Gizelle thinks apologies need to happen between Ashley and Candiace. I love when she pretends to be the peacemaker when she actually lives for this s**t. To my shock, Candiace tries to be mature about her and wants to do the convo away from the entire group. She thinks it needs to be a one on one. TRUTH.
Ashley doesn’t accept that because she wants Candiace’s actions to align with her words. This actually does feel like a Candiace attack party. Everyone is coming at her hard here. However, unlike a certain ragamuffin on the west coast, she can hold her ground and address it all.
After everyone starts coming at her at the table, Candiace says “f**k you” to all of them. She wants no part in the surprise confrontation that’s taking place. It’s hard to feel bad for her though when she made the bed she’s being forced to lay in.
