The Real Housewives of Potomac will never be the same because of THE FIGHT. Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett’s feud went to the ultimate level, and everything is forever altered. You can feel how fractured the group is because of this vicious incident. However, Monique has yet to show any remorse for her actions. Until that happens, things won’t be able to move forward in any way.
To this point, neither woman involved in the altercation wants to take any blame. Something has to give. Someone needs to be the bigger person and accept their role in what went down. Given she was aggressor, we’ve likely seen the last of Monique’s group scenes. It’s a shame how low things got and how toxic they’ve become. The next big question is if Candiace is willing to press charges. That’s a massive step.
Karen Huger is making a BIG BIG deal out of this homecoming engagement she has. It’s weird she would choose Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant of all people to travel with her. Those are not her closest people whatsoever. However, it’ll be a good chance for them to get to know her on a deeper level.
I appreciate how much more Karen is opening up to the group this season. She felt very snobby for so long, and now she’s shedding those pretentious layers. About damn time!
Does everyone agree that Potomac has the most beautiful cast hands down? Ashley, Karen, and Gizelle all look so great in this scene at Karen’s home. Well Gizelle is trying. Beautiful, yes. Fashionable, not at all. Someone hire this poor woman a stylist. That’s long overdue.
Ray Huger wasn’t invited on the trip. Um okay. That makes it even weirder that Gizelle and Ashley are tagging along. I guess there is still trouble in paradise after last week’s episode. Maybe this time away from Karen will help him decide if he loves her or not. He’ll be in the doghouse until he has a come to Jesus moment about THAT.
With Monique exiled and the others out of town, Candiace and Robyn Dixon link up to discuss things. Robyn relays to Candiace the lack of remorse shown by Monique at the sit down. It was one of the most disgusting and shocking things I’ve ever seen. She did not care one bit about the harm she caused. She’s dangerous. Something isn’t right with her.
Despite Karen having Monique’s back publicly, Candiace alleges she told her to press charges in private. Karen is playing with fire with this Switzerland attitude. Sometimes it really is that black and white. Sometimes someone is more in the wrong. Hold Monique accountable, and be there for Candiace. She was violently assaulted for crying out loud.
Candiace confirms to Robyn that pressing charges is still on the table. That’s definitely a move you can’t come back from. That’s a definitive line in the sand. If she takes that route, this group will remain fractured forever in its current form.
The topic shifts to Robyn’s recent tax woes and how she owes $90,000. Wasn’t this the same woman who shaded Karen for she and Ray’s tax mess? Girl….glass house much? This green-eyed bandit needs to stay in her own lane. Candiace points out the hypocrisy of it all. You better believe Robyn won’t be coming after anyone about their money issues anytime soon.
This hometown of Karen’s reminds me so much of where I’m from. There’s a whole lot of nothing for miles and miles. BORING AS HELL. I could never live there again because I might actually die from the boredom.
KAREN WAS THE CUTEST KID EVER. OH MY GOD. She was serving Grand Dame realness from Day 1. Living for this because she really is the moment. Certainly the image of Karen on a tractor will go down in pop culture infamy. Despite her tendency to sometimes be a snob, Karen is forever giving all of us the comedic moments we need. Thank you legend.
Monique calls Ashley while the women are at the farm, and she is very drained and on edge. She shades Candiace on the call, and Gizelle walks away irritated. She is done dealing with Monique at this point. I get it because you don’t know when Monique will lose it again like that. After all that’s gone down, being around Monique sounds stressful.
Wendy Osefo meets with her sister to talk about possible future changes. Considering leaving her position in her field is going to cause some uproar. Her mother isn’t going to react well at all to this news. As long as it’s what Wendy wants to do, that’s what she should worry about most. Follow your heart.
AM I ACTUALLY SITTING THROUGH ROBYN AND JUAN DIXON ROLEPLAYING AT THE BAR? What has this world come to. 2020 is hellbent on punishing me. I’ll admit it’s kind of funny. However, don’t do this to me ever again. Although, I do like this better than Robyn flipping houses.
Karen and Gizelle have such an iconic feud. They have been feuding for the duration of the series, but they don’t cross the point of no return. They keep it light enough to where we actually want to keep seeing it.
Gizelle and Ashley talk about Karen and Ray’s troubles, and they nail the core issue. Karen and Ray are not the same people they were when they got married. It’s reality. Karen is in her prime right now and thriving, so she’s not ready for the quiet life.
Oh lord, we have to sit through Candiace’s momma. My heart can’t take this today. She’s A LOT. I know Candiace is a lot too, but her mom is next level. Do we remember the purse incident from last year when she hit her? However, I truly hope she’s there for her throughout this debacle with Monique.
Her mom is PISSED about what Monique has done. She definitely crossed a line here. The worst part is how Monique laughs and brags about having no remorse. That’s just not okay.
Karen gets emotional after revisiting her old church, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. Talking about the loss of her parents is too much for her to handle, and she has to walk away. Losing her mom and dad really affected Karen in such a deep way, and it’s something I can really relate to. Having gone through the same thing myself this year, it’s one of the most soul crushing experiences ever.
T’Challa is the true star of the season for me. Every time he appears on screen, I totally lose it. Monique has the opposite effect on me. At this point I’m over her and all of the fakeness. Prior to this season, I was a big fan of Monique. However, I see through the bulls**t now.
Her entire conversation with her pastor is so disingenuous on her end. Give me a break. You care about your image; not what you’ve done. Girl, bye. Someone take this woman’s champagne flute away.
We end with Monique agreeing to meet with Candiace to talk to her. That might be complicated by next week’s previous showing Monique being charged with assault. BOOM. DRAG HER CANDIACE.
