Scheana Shay Is Worried Vanderpump Rules Hasn’t Started Filming Yet

We’ve seen a lot of changes coming out of Vanderpump Rules since filming stopped this year. After firing Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, the show seemed destined to fade. But then came the baby explosion, thanks for a very real pregnancy pact by the ladies on the show.

Stassi announced her pregnancy. Then came Lala Kent revealing she’s pregnant. Next was Brittany Cartwright, who is by far my least favorite pregnant person if you check out her ultra-annoying Instagram. Finally, after a heartbreaking miscarriage, Scheana Shay is finally having her happy ending with a pregnancy of her own. Even Katie Maloney and forever-bum husband, Tom Schwartz are trying to have a kid.

With everyone’s lives seeming to move away from the drunken drama we have come to know and love from VPR, it’s no wonder that there might be cause for concern about the future state of the show. The show normally films over the summer and that obviously didn’t happen this year.

Scheana talked about her own worries on her recent podcast, as reported by Us Weekly. Scheana started, “I’m worried that, I mean, ‘cause we don’t know exactly what’s going on. We were just gonna assume that with three cast members all being due in April, they would kind of schedule around that, but nothing has been said for sure.”

She continued by adding that the global pandemic is also coming into play, “And now with all the counties in the state going back into purple, I don’t know if that’s going to affect what the tentative plan even was. That’s just in my head. Nothing has been confirmed.” The temporary closure of some of their locations has also caused a possible delay in filming. But Scheana noted, “SUR has been back open since mid-September. And then Pump just opened back up Halloween weekend. But TomTom hasn’t opened back up.”

For his part, Bravo Daddy Andy Cohen seems to think that moving forward with the show is the best way to go. On a podcast with Danny Pellegrino, Andy said, “I actually think in an odd way [the pandemic closing the restaurants is] going to create a lot of story that is absolutely real, and they’ll be able to lean into it.”

While I still think VPR has been stale the last few seasons, current events certainly open the door for new storylines. And fans of the show are more than interested in seeing how the baby boom plays out. Maybe this even ushers a completely new show for fans. Either way, I would be bummed if I don’t get to at least follow Scheana on her new journey. Here’s hoping her worries are unfounded.
