As more and more Below Deck cast members progress through different stages of land-life, us fans will be able to reconnect with some familiar faces. And isn’t it nice to see some happy, ecstatic brides-to-be or pregnancy bumps on social media? But most alums slip from our minds, like Below Deck Mediterranean Season One deck hand Danny Zureikat, being hauled off on a donkey after a disastrous performance onboard. Of course, production likely prefers casting fresh faces each season. Especially with lower ranking staff, it’s one season and done with most of them.
Such was Brooke Laughton’s tenure on Below Deck Mediterranean. She joined the crew as a very capable second stew in Season 3. Brooke and Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier got along rather well until she started crushing on Joao Franco and Hannah ducked out of work responsibilities to smoke ciggies with Bosun Conrad Empson. Third Stew Kasey Cohen also had her eye on Joao and a rather sloppy love triangle resulted. Happier days were waiting for Brooke after she left the show, and just this week, she shared some very special news.
A very happy (and blonde) Brooke posted the engagement news to her social media on Wednesday. She announced, “I said YES to my soul mate,” while showing off a canary diamond. The couple were vacationing on the Italian Riveria when Brooke’s boyfriend popped the question.
Brooke’s message continued with a sweet story about how their relationship started. She said, “the first time we met I called him my future husband before I even knew his name (behind his back- that would just be creepy) and now the most romantic proposal on a hilltop overlooking the bay of Portofino.”
It looks like Brooke’s sweetheart timed the proposal with another special celebration. “Just in time for my 30th Birthday today. Sooooooo overwhelmed and in love,” she gushed.

Brooke’s costars shared in her excitement. Her former chief stew Hannah wrote, “congrats honey!!!!” Colin Macy O’Toole was rather in love with Brooke during their season together. She turned him down to pursue Joao, but Colin had kind words for her now. “Congrats Brookie Cookie!!” he posted. Interestingly, Brooke’s former love rival Kasey also shared happy words. Kasey wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS BB!!!! And a very happy birthday! So happy for you both!”
Other Below Deck cast members such as Ciara Duggan liked the post while Anastasia Surmava wrote, “OMG CONGRATULATIONS.” Josiah Carter added, “Yassss congrats xx.” Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season One chief stew Jenna MacGillivray wrote her, “congratulations!!!!”
