The first three seasons of Selling Sunset are a testament to unofficial HBIC and antagonist Christine Quinn’s unapologetic and bold confidence. She has, since staring on the breakout show, thoroughly embraced her villain role, releasing her first book titled How to be a Boss Bitch, in May of this year. If you’re intrigued by the philosophies implied by this book title however, you may want to take pause and consider the source. While arguably successful in the luxury real estate field, Christine still has a bit of work to do with regards to her work relationships.
She recently dished to People on her friendships (or lack thereof) with other cast mates and in particular, the decline of her friendship with fellow castmate Heather Rae Young.
“We just started seeing each other less and less and less, and she became closer with Mary [Fitzgerald] and Chrishell [Stause], who obviously have opinions about me. Unfortunately it is what it is.” Instagram sleuths noticed this year Christine has been noticeably absent throughout Heather’s engagement celebrations, and is according to Mary, the only cast mate not invited to Heather’s wedding to HGTV star Tarek El Moussa. Christine addressed the upcoming nuptials in her usual cheeky way: “My invite must’ve got lost in the mail.”
The breakdown of Christine’s friendship with Heather has especially been difficult for her, with Christine explaining, “I was really hurt because Heather and I were so close, she was like a sister to me. I feel like out of all the girls, Heather and I were actually the closest. Mary and I were close in proximity because we lived together, but it was surface level; it wasn’t deep. I knew more about Heather in five minutes than I did with Mary living with her in six months. So I think that’s the hardest part for me is that we were so close, and we don’t even know why we drifted apart.”
We feel you on losing a friend you’re particularly close with, but did you have to throw shade at Mary at the same time?

When pressed for details on what caused this, Christine expanded, “I read an article that she did, and it really broke my heart because she said something about me being a mom not changing me or something. something like ‘I hope she becomes a softer person.’ Out of all the things you could have said, why?” Christine went even further to claim she helped manifest Heather and Tarek’s engagement and taking issue with the fact that Heather did not acknowledge this.
“The nail in the coffin was when I read that she wrote a letter to Tarek and told him to open it on their one-year anniversary- and they were engaged a year later,” Christine explained, “the hurtful thing was she came to me for advice, ‘How do I keep this guy? I love him. I really like him.’ It was his birthday, I think, and she had just met him. I said ‘Write him a card and tell him to open this on your one-year anniversary and tell him I love you so much. I’m so happy for this year together. I can’t wait to be married.'”
She continued, “And then sure enough, a year went by and he opened the card and they were engaged a year later. I like to say I’m responsible; I like to take credit for that- that was my guru manifestation idea.” Claiming responsibility for someone’s engagement because you gave great gift advice, and publicly blasting them for not giving you credit? We’re not 100% sure on that one Christine…

Christine’s comments come on the heels of Mary recently divulging that the office essentially does not associate with Christine outside of work. Christine seemingly addressed this also by explaining how she has distanced herself from her Oppenheim peers to work from home and avoid cliquey work colleagues.
“In the office it’s very, very cliquey , and I’ll be honest: I don’t go to the office to work.” She continued, “I stay at home and I get my work done, and that’s really where I’m in the zone. I made the cognizant choice to not be in a lost of office scenes because I needed to actually get work done. And I think by not physically being there it just, I slowly started getting phased out of the group.”
Selling Sunset was recently renewed for two more seasons, with buzz that the fourth season is expected to start before the end of this year. This means, thankfully, we wont have long to wait to get Netflix’s spin on what really caused Christine to get iced out by the entire gang within a year… and we’re hoping it’s juicy.
