Apparently, it took stepping outside the Big Apple bubble, with some other Real Housewives, into the land of Turks and Caicos for Luann de Lesseps to see a new side to longtime cast mate and friend Ramona Singer.
âI had the most conflict with Ramona,â Luann explained in a recent E! News interview when discussing if there was any issues among the women who were filming for Peacockâs spin-off Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. âI was expecting it to come from somewhere else, but it was home base.â
Both ladies along with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsâ Kyle Richards, The Real Housewives of Atlantaâs Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey and The Real Housewives of New Jersey sister-in-laws Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice filmed for eight days, in four cities, for the mash-up Ultimate Girls Trip which premieres next month.
The history with Luann and Ramona is long. They started as original cast members of the RHONY in 2008. Over the years, they have screamed it out, made up, drank excessively, went on the prowl for men, laughed and crashed together, and in the end always make nice.
However, times are a changing. While filming Ultimate Girls Trip, Lu and Ramona seemed to finally splinter. Luann confirmed it was her and Ramona who went head-to-head throughout the trip.
âFunnily enough, I got along with everyone,â Luann explained. âIt was so much fun.â Some viewers think Ramonaâs obnoxious ways and mouth have just gotten old and need to go. Bravo is clearly listening. It has been rumored Ramona was not invited back for RHONY season 14. None of this is confirmed yet as RHONYâs upcoming season is on indefinite hold. RHONY ladies couldnât even get it together for a reunion following season 13. The reunion show was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, per Bravoâs statement.

While Ramonaâs drunk and no-so-drunk antics were oftentimes overlooked, it appears that ship has sailed and accountability is happening. The âI can get away with any commentâ and play it off like an over-the-top cartoon character, didnât fly with Kenya. â[Ramona] did not get away with it this time,â said Lu. âIt was great because I saw a different perspective because Iâm so used to Ramona.â
Lu admitted, âI saw the womenâs reactions to her and it was like, oh maybe she shouldnât be getting away with all of this âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry.'â Ramona is the queen of apologies. She typically justifies her rude comments and actions as her own ignorance. It seems her inappropriateness, didnât sit well outside her New York squad.
Kenya apparently wasnât having it. Lu claims during the drama Kenya actually had her back. Luann admitted she was most nervous to meet Kenya of the RHUGT crew but found a friend in her. âI heard so much about her and drama queen and all that from Atlanta, but we actually hit it off which was a pleasant surprise for me,â said Luann.
While Ramona has been a constant character over the years on RHONY she may have fallen into the Vicki Gunvalson âtoo big for her britchesâ category. Vicki spent countless years being the drunk âwhoop it up girlâ before it all turned and accountability caught up and she was fired. Ramona may not be far behind Vicki on that road.
