The Season 10 Real Housewives of New York reunion spelled the end of Carole Radziwill’s time on the show. Carole’s friendship with Bethenny Frankel imploded, leaving both women pointing the finger at each other. When Andy Cohen mentioned that both women “bashed each other on the show,” Carole exclaimed, “You’re so full of sh*t, Andy.”
Carole believed that Andy sided with Bethenny during the vicious RHONY reunion. “I think I said on the show, it was too much Bethenny and not enough Carole in that friendship,” Carole said. “I will say now I’m much more careful about who I spend time with. And it does linger with me, like now I really stay away… like I can recognize narcissists like from a mile away.”
In July of 2018, Carole announced that she was leaving RHONY. Bethenny claimed that Carole was fired.
The tell-all book Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives From the People Who Lived It, has also shed some light on Carole and Andy’s supposed friendship. The author, Dave Quinn, gave props to Carole for being the Housewife who shared the most inside information.

In the book, Andy didn’t hold back about his feelings when Carole left RHONY. She posted on Instagram, “If you were doing something that was forcing you to do things that went against your own value system would you walk away regardless of the pay.”
Andy told Dave in the book, “Carole’s post basically implied that she was leaving a really toxic situation. It really rubbed me the wrong way because I really felt like I had changed her life.” Andy added, “She is not the person I used to know.”
A follower tweeted, “I had changed her life Andy Cohen really thinks any of these housewives are indebted to him… PRINCESS Radziwill doesn’t need you, she has multiple Emmy’s and a Peabody. Pipe down! #RHONY @CaroleRadziwill @Andy.” Good point.
“Just another man telling a woman she ought to be more grateful,” Carole tweeted. “Housewives changed Andy Cohen’s life, not mine. And Bravo built a 100 million dollar franchise on the backs of women. Let’s not get it twisted.” Carole and Andy can certainly hold a grudge.
Carole denied being friends with Andy. “Back in Season 5, I think they were firing like four of the women and Andy was looking for women to take their place and I knew him,” she shared, “The idea that Andy and I were like BFF’s was a manufactured idea in the press and it kind of took on a life of its own.”

According to CheatSheet, Carole shared how close she really was to Andy on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. Of her supposed friendship with Andy, Carole remarked, “You know that was Bravo generated. I never went around saying Andy and I are really close friends. I never said that.”
She explained, “I had never seen the show. So, I didn’t really know what the show was about when Andy first brought it up.” That is so shady! “And I think the friendship between Andy and I was really like exaggerated, but I did know him,” the writer stated. “We have mutual friends, so I would see him, you know, at New York at dinners and stuff, but we were never like close.”
In fact, another one of Carole’s friends told her about RHONY. Carole said of Andy that she “didn’t really know what he did.” She continued, “My friend Karen Duffy. She was an MTV VJ. One of the originals. And she was the one that first told me that Andy had a talk show, and he would interview and a blog and he would interview Housewives.”
Carole, who was totally unfamiliar with the Housewives, watched a couple Watch What Happens Live shows. “And then he asked me to be on it. Weirdly I didn’t have that many reservations.” Weird indeed.
“I know like some Housewives, they come on and they’re like, well, you know, I really did like a pro and con sheet,” Carole commented. “I literally was like, ‘OK, you want me to do this? I’ll do it.’” Carole added, “I was definitely curious about it. And I said always in the beginning in the press, like I did it because I was a journalist, not in spite of it.”
