Garcelle Beauvais Explains Why She Mentioned Other Real Housewives In Her Book

Lisa Rinna isn’t the only hustler on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Garcelle Beauvais jumped on the scene with diamond in hand and an impressive acting background on her resume. She was also a host on The Real, a groundbreaking  daytime talk show that has received three Daytime Emmys and two NAACP Image Awards. Unfortunately, it was recently announced that the show was cancelled, but that just leaves Garcelle more time for other opportunities.

One of those other opportunities is likely going to be promoting her new book, Love Me As I Am. The memoir was published this month. Inadvertently, Garcelle got plenty of press for her book thanks to castmate, Erika Jayne. After beefing for all of the upcoming season, which premieres in May, the two have gone back and forth on social media for months now. Most recently, Erika posted an Instagram story of her throwing Garcelle’s book in the trash. Garcelle cheekily played it up on social media and Erika snapped that she was using her for publicity. Duh?

But part of Garcelle’s book features some insights on her relationships with her fellow castmates. Which makes sense, given that RHOBH is a part of her life. Apparently, she talks about Erika, Kyle Richards and interestingly enough, Lisa’s daughter, Amelia Hamlin. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Garcelle explained why she included the three in her memoir.

A fan called in to ask Garcelle, “I just need to know what you think of Erika’s claims that you slammed her, Kyle and Amelia throughout your book.” Host Andy Cohen jumped in top point out what a good question it was. Garcelle agreed and began, “That is a great question. I was trying to umm, with Kyle, I was trying to address what happened when she said I didn’t pay at the charity.” She continued, “Actually, I think I did a great job at explaining it to Kyle. And Kyle was amazing with understanding where I was coming from and accepting it. And she sort of became a champion of, sort of, the Black Lives Matter thing. She was really great.”

Andy then prompted, “Do you trash Erika and Amelia in the book?” Garcelle responded, “No I actually said that Erika and I had said that we are similar in a lot of ways. Sort of like, bravado, kind of you know, people think we are tough. But we are really sensitive.” As for Amelia, Garcelle stated, “I mean, I talked about what happened on the show. I didn’t make up anything that wasn’t there.”

Prior to this admission, Garcelle had already revealed that she didn’t mention Amelia by name in her book. Rather, she spoke about her conversation with mom Lisa about how Lisa’s dancing on social media might affect her daughter’s eating issues. this conversation was also featured on the show. Amelia clapped back and cursed at Garcelle, which Lisa ultimately apologized for on Amelia’s behalf. Garcelle wrote in her book, “Leave it to Lisa! She admitted that she’d taken a lot of heat for allowing her daughter to tell me to ‘F—OFF’ on camera. I told her that as a mother, I would never have allowed my child to blatantly disrespect another adult in such a crass way. She apologized immediately, and I really appreciated that.”
