Teddi Mellencamp is weighing in on recent comments made by Garcelle Beauvais. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently took aim at the current housewife. Garcelle appeared on and episode of Watch What Happens Live and talked about her relationship with costar Kathy Hilton. Teddi, who is still close with former castmate Kyle Richards, felt the need to jump in and call Garcelle out.
As reported by Heavy, Teddi discussed the issue on a recent episode of her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod. She hosts the pod with former Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge. Tamra began by explaining what happened. She started, “So Andy [Cohen] asks Garcelle, do you think Kathy Hilton – do you think you are closer to Kathy Hilton than Kyle is right now. And [Garcelle] said absolutely.”
Teddi revealed that the comments “made [her] feel really sad.” She continued, “They are family and how do you say something like that without a little bit of remorse and not to mention, but they’ve been a lifetime of being sisters and Garcelle has filmed two seasons with [Kathy]. And the way she said it, and she was like all proud.” Teddi wondered, “Here’s the thing. Garcelle why are you so proud that you are closer with somebody’s sister? To me, that was mean, mean spirited.”
Teddi’s opinion sounds a lot like what Kyle had to say about the situation. Kyle already admitted that she saw the clip and was hurt. Kyle shared, “What Garcelle said last night on Watch What Happens Live really hurt my feelings. I was shocked.” Kyle then defended her relationship with sister Kathy. Said Kyle, “This is someone who’s known my sister for two seasons on a reality show. Kathy was barely even on last season ’cause she was busy with [daughter] Paris [Hilton’s] wedding. [Garcelle] is comparing knowing someone from a reality show for a couple of seasons to a lifetime of being sisters. Regardless of if Kathy and I are having an issue right now or not, I just thought that was really hurtful. I like Garcelle and we’re fine but that really took me back. It ruined my whole night.”
Garcelle and Kathy’s relationship after filming the latest season has clearly gotten stronger. After the season 12 trailer dropped, showing tension between Kathy and Kyle, Garcelle came to Kathy’s defense. Said Garcelle of Kathy, “I think she’s a great woman, and I think the show thrives on drama.”
And Kathy perviously confessed that out of the RHOBH cast, she spends the most time with Garcelle. Kathy stated, “And I would say that the one I spend the most time with would probably be Garcelle. In fact, I’m gonna go and do a week on her show [The Real]. So that’ll be fun.”
