Sherri Shepherd took over for Wendy Williams when Wendy required time to heal her soul, her life, and her mind. A lot of people were stressed at the loss of Wendy, but Sherri began filling in before the show was axed.
The Wendy Williams Show was rebranded as Sherri in 2022 and everything was on track. It was recently renewed through 2025, so Sherri must be doing something right. If you’re familiar with the comedian, you know her love life has been through the wringer. Sherri has gone through two contentious divorces and the last one really put her in a bad place.
Now that Sherri has her own platform, she’s using her powers for good. Recently she gave a shout-out to an old friend who helped her through a horrible time in her life. People has all of the details.
On a recent episode of her show, Sherri wanted to publicly acknowledge Dancing With The Stars mover and shaker Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She said, “Maksim is so sweet and I want to give him a shout-out because when I was going through my second divorce — I was at the lowest point in my life.” Sherri added she was having a rough time with money due to her ex-husband’s litigious nature. “I was having a hard time financially. It was just court stuff.”
She said Maksim reached out and offered to let her dance her cares away. “And Maksim called me and invited me to his dance studio, Come Dance with Me, to just dance and take classes.” You might remember Sherri is a DWTS vet. In 2012 she was partnered with Maksim’s brother Val Chmerkovskiy.
Sherri advised Maksim she was thankful for the offer but had to decline due to financial stress. “I said to him, I said, ‘Maksim, I can’t afford it right now.’ And Maksim said to me, he said, ‘You are always family. And he gave me all my dance classes for free for almost a year and I want to thank Maksim.”
Sherri added Maks is “an all-around good guy”. That will absolutely be the nicest thing I write about this month and I hope you enjoyed the serotonin boost.
