Taylor Ann Green has had a rough go at things for a while now, but as a result, she’s sort of made things rough for her Southern Charm co-stars. Season 9 has seen Taylor engage in some hurtful behavior.
Her behavior was understandable to a certain extent given that Shep Rose had cheated on her more than once. It was only natural that she’d be hurt. However, her feelings of hurt led to some questionable actions.
For example, fans questioned what Taylor hoped to achieve when she sent a nude to Whitney Sudler-Smith. Moreover, many viewers found Taylor’s kiss with Austen Kroll condemnable, especially when she didn’t apologize. So, Taylor addressed her behavior in a recent interview.
Taylor claims, “I don’t like to treat people poorly”
In an interview with Christina Garibaldi from Us Weekly, Taylor admitted, “It’s been really, really tough watching back … All you can do is learn from it and move forward.” When asked what she’d learned about herself over the past year, the Southern Charm star said, “I can tell how hurt I am as a human being … I hadn’t processed things very well.”
She continued that she was “Looking back at this really, like, hurt human, and I did not handle that very well.” Garibaldi sympathized with Taylor, reflecting on her public breakup. “It’s hard,” Taylor agreed. “People don’t realize that … You have thousands of people weighing in, either saying kind things or rude things, so, it’s hard to try to manage that.”
Garibaldi then asked what the hardest part had been for Taylor as she rewatched herself. “Honestly, just how I treated people. That’s not who I am as a human being. I don’t like to treat people poorly, but hurt people hurt people, and that’s kind of what I was going through.” Still, many fans wish she would take more accountability.
