The Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky split is the Bravo story that won’t stop making headlines. No breakup is ever easy, and when it happens on reality TV, it gets that much messier.
For Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle, her split from Mauricio has been a heated topic of discussion among friends, fans, and fellow housewives alike. It can’t be easy going through a relationship ending and having to hear about it everywhere.
This is why Kyle’s castmates have shown their support in various ways as she goes through this difficult time. And the latest to voice her opinion in this ongoing drama is Erika Jayne.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky split for real
Erika isn’t thrilled about the rumors circulating that Kyle and Mauricio might be using their relationship issues for a storyline on the show. While using personal problems for a storyline isn’t outside the realm of possibility in reality TV, Erika is 100% sure it’s not the case this time.
She told Access Hollywood unequivocally, “It’s not a storyline.”
Erika added, “No one would do this for a storyline. I mean, there’s a family here. They have daughters. They would never do this for a storyline. That’s kind of gross.”
As Kyle’s friend, Erika is sure the pair wouldn’t air their painful separation just for publicity, especially when it could potentially hurt their kids.
Plus, for as long as possible, Kyle and Mauricio maintained that they were working on their marriage despite admitting to having a rough year, continuing to say they were working things out. They denied divorce rumors.
Kyle’s castmates were sure they were going to work things out. Erika previously said that there was no way Kyle and Mauricio were going to split.
Erika was wrong on that occasion. Could she also be wrong here? The separation may be real, but perhaps the potential divorce is part of an upcoming storyline. Only time will tell.
For now, no matter what, Erika confirmed that she will support Kyle no matter what happens in the coming months.
“I’m a friend of Kyle’s,” Erika said. “Whatever Kyle chooses to do, I’m going to support her in that.”
