Breaking up is hard to do, especially when you are a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star like Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley. The two have been sharing their quirky relationship for years, endearing viewers for season after season. Very much the odd couple, with Dorit loving fashion and PK’s love of representing 80s music icons, they just seem to work. So, it makes sense that their recent split seems a bit sketchy.
Dorit and PK Could Be Forcing a Storyline
For over a year, there have been rumblings within the Bravoverse that PK and Dorit were having major financial issues and only keeping their relationship together for the sake of a storyline. Could Dorit losing $10K in cash for presents be the straw that broke the camel’s back? I doubt it, but it wouldn’t be too far fetched to believe the couple is hanging on to their part on the show by a thread.
PK’s New Reality Show Flopped
Even though Kyle Richards and Dorit are besties, it seems highly unlikely that the mother of two would let the child actor be the number one storyline within their group. It wasn’t widely known that PK actually launched his own real estate show in England called Selling Super House, but it got panned by the critics. Even though Dorit made multiple appearances, the show just didn’t catch fire. The premise was to have aspiring estate agents compete for the job of a lifetime by showcasing and selling properties for PK.
The split could be a massive PR stunt in hopes of gaining viewers’ attention both for RHOBH and Selling Super House. The lure of a sordid divorce would catch almost any reality TV viewer here, and we all know that while curiosity killed the cat, Bravo viewers are like bees to honey when it comes to marriage drama.
Why Give Attention To Fake News?
Dorit and PK are not the only Bravolebrites to have to deal with rumors about their lives, but they are one of the few couples to address fake news so quickly, and that strikes many viewers as suspicious.
Tamra Judge noted on her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, “It’s so weird that they put out a statement so quickly. All of the freaking fake news that goes out there about me, I never—rarely will I go, ‘I’m going to put out a statement.’ But whatever.”
The couple’s statement, via In Touch, gave fans the ick and read, “We have had some challenging years, which we openly discuss in the upcoming season of RHOBH.” Though Dorit and PK “remain committed to working through these issues,” they deny any separation. “We have not separated, nor are we planning to do so,” their statement read.
“We are doing what we can to focus on the best interests of our family, as opposed to spending our time contending with rumors and hearsay that are not true,” Dorit and PK asserted. While the words say they aren’t actually separated, it does feel like an attempt to drum up drama for the show. The photos of PK leaving a hotel seem pretty staged, too.
The Couple Could Be in a Crisis Mode
It feels like both Dorit and PK are taking a page from the Beirmann Special. Currently, Dorit is on the line for an outstanding IRS bill in the amount of $90,269. At the same time, PK owes $986,887 in taxes. The father of two also has to pay $230,965 in 2014 taxes and $58,458 in taxes from 2016. Tell me you’re trying to restructure your debt and hide your assets without telling me.
It is hard to say for sure whether or not Dorit and PK have fallen out of love, but let’s be honest—they were a surprising pair from the start. The couple could be cunning enough to have kept a lid on their issues just long enough to have it all play out in front of Bravo cameras, but only time, and maybe Eaglewoman, will tell.
